I found that Excelsior is pretty generous in accepting courses. You should be able to determine by reading the course description whether or not it meets one of the requirements. Course names often are different across different institutions. One thing you should do: keep a copy of the current college catalog that covers the courses you are taking. You never know when you might be required to provide the course descriptions in the future.
You might want to wait until Wednesday and ok the courses with an EC advisor if the course is not one of the run of the mill courses, like English 101 or Chem 101. The advisor will give you the right info. Make sure you have the course description in front of you when you call. Good luck.
Hey, you can CLEP or DANTES out of many courses. Sociology, Ethics, World REligions, Lifespan, the list is long. Your able to take it at most community colleges, and it is way cheaper.
You can clep out of 3 to 4 classes for the price of one at EC(or any college). It is the greatest thing since sliced bread!!!!!!! I'm such a dork.........

Yeah, but we love you anyway.
More info on CLEP is here: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html
for all those wondering about information literacy....it's dumb. i took it in about 3 hours, mind you it is scheduled for all semester. for me that was $100 dollar a hour course...expensive just to be able to graduate. i have 115 college hours + you would think they would recognize that and realize that i know about digging up info...

Hi Im am looking at taking some online courses at my community college,to save some money to apply for Excelsior Rn program this summer! Now I was looking at my information sheet for General Education Requirements for the nursing program, and I was looking at my CC online courses, some of them are different names! I was going to register tonight, and get it out of the way! Or should I wait and talk to Excelsior on Wednesday and see what classes they want!
