Does anyone know what the qualifications are for the pell grants or student loans through Excelsior?According to what I have read on their website they are now title iv eligible.Does that include the Nursing ASN program?Trying to get enrolled before the Oct.1 deadline. As a stay at home mom with only one income, being able to get a loan would be a tremendous help with the cost of these test + cpne !Thanks,Ceb

i called on this and if you are in the nursing program you are not eligible for the pell grant. they say because it is test based not semester based. however, if you hurry you can still apply for scholarships.

Scholarship date's for Excelsior are in Oct. and in Jan. You can apply once a year or twice, but only once is needed unless you missed the first. I would either call them for an application or download one from their site. I personally have received 2 so far that have helped a great deal. Either way never hurts to try. Hope this helps!!
did you receive 2 in the same year? i got one in october is there a chance i could get another one in feb when they give them out again. i think you only have to apply once. in feb is when i am looking at paying for the cpne so anything will help.

hello i know its been a while since you finished excelsior. i will be started excelsior soon and i wanted to know how much were you awarded from the scholarships.
oh i'm not done yet. i had to use my cpne money to feed my kids and now am starting over. but i do have a plan. i didn't want to take the blooming thing before next year anyway...ok now i did get a scholarship and ec applied it to the last 3 test i had ...so i guess around $700+ . which helped a great deal.

There's a select few institutions that will grant excelsior students a private student loan. It took me 2 months to get my money even though I was approved within 2 wks. EC put disbursement date of 2009 !!
