Hello everyone,

I am new to this site but have found many of your post very interesting. I was wondering if any of you have gotten your RN through excelsior or are using it now. I am enrolled but seem to be procrastinating. I really would love some advice on studying. I have all the books but the study guides are so general i do not know where to start. any advice would be great.

Pick a test, any test. Schedule a test date about 4-6 weeks ahead of schedule and then start studying for whatever test you picked. If you try to look at EVERYTHING you need to complete it will overwhelm you and you just might quit trying. Baby steps - but always keep moving. Within 48 hours of completing one test - get your next test scheduled and start studying for the next subject. My best practice (after years of starting and stoping) was to set goal dates on my calander for every test needed and put a big resolution on my frig to graduate by a certain date. My entire family (including extended family visiting) always asked about where I was in the process and if I was still on target. It worked!

I agree with Nascar nurse on her strategy. Always easier to 'get serious' when you have a deadline you're working with. Just wanted to also mention that we have a Distance Learning forum here with tons of posts related to EC.

Good luck!
