excelsior college what's the real scoop?

I am a lpn licensed in the state of missouri, would love to get my rn degree but i want to go the distance learning route. can anyone can give me the real deal about this. would like to hear from a missouri resident who went this route, passed state boards and is now working in missouri.

That's the price at the moment. Other exams are more, or less, depending on subject area. The current price for CPNE is right around $1500, I think $1400-something, plus travel expenses and hotel right?

Good luck...you do need to be aware that your RN may not transfer to other states though. Illinois does not accept RN's that have not attended a school where clinicals were taught along with theory. This is from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation website.

Very true. I noticed on that same website that they specifically mentioned Excelsior College and that they do not accept their degrees for either initial licensure or endorsement. But.....in the very next paragraph they state that there is a clause in this policy for those graduates of such programs who have been in practice in a "clinical" area of nursing for at least 2 years and they specifically mention areas that would qualify such as Med/Surg, ICU, etc that they could possibly endorse into Illinois.

They basically were saying that you could endorse if you were doing clinical RN work for 2 years as opposed to management or something. I always thought that IL stood firm on that issue so I thought it was interesting to read that on their board website.
