Has Excelsior figured out a way to improve CPNE wait time yet?

Nursing Students Excelsior

I've been reading the forum as well as the Excelsior website to research the school's LPN to RN program. What I've uncovered is that there have been issues related to scheduling for the CPNE exam. I know that the school shut down or stopped using a couple of testing sites also. So the issue is that the average wait time has increased from 2 to 4 months give or take...to 8 to 10 months give or take.

Does anyone know if Excelsior is making any progress on improving the wait time? Or could it be that this is being done on purpose to limit the number of RN new graduates being produced for economic purposes???

These are just questions and thoughts...I'm not trying to start any fights. I'm changing careers and starting an LPN program so I'm looking ahead for the next move. Yes I could just get an ABSN or RN first and then a second bachelors, but the LPN route allows me to work sooner, costs will be paid by WIOA, and I'm much older now. So two years of no work is not what I want. My next step is to contact the school via phone, but I'd appreciate any insight you all.

Thanks!

Omg, really??? Congrats!!

Thanks!!! But, I'm not in there yet. I'm told that I am, but....I'm still on the outer side of the gate. Definitely not a walk in the park trying to become a VA employee. This is a different location, too.

This is why the VA is always short handed. It takes AGES to hire new people when someone leaves.

I must agree. When they called for the interview, it had been so long since I'd applied, I didn't even remember which position they were calling about, since I applied for every one they had in which I was qualified for.

How is everyone preparing for cpne when it's current wait time is 12 months out? Start in 6 months after applying? I want to take a prep course just not sure when I should take, appreciate anyone's feedback or perspective.

Dont wait 6 months start today. Would you eat an entire cow in a single setting? Of course not lol you would serve it up in smaller more tolerable portions. Do a little everyday and then it won't seem as overwhelming

I applied for the CPNE February 2017 and received an email that I would test between January and March 2018. That means my wait time is between 11 and 13 months. The current wait time for students who does not call for cancellation dates is about 12 to 14 months. You're not going to catch me complaining about the wait time. This will give me PLENTY of time to be 100% prepared to test.

There is a new test site in Tallahassee Florida!!! It won't be an open test site until this Winter, but I've b added to my list :) I would LOVE to decrease my travel time from 17 hours to 4 hours.
