Hi

I'm going through Excelsior College. It's a tough program and can get discouraging and frustrating at times. I passed the first test, but didn't do well on the 2nd and 3rd test. I was going to an university, but tuition was getting to be a bit much to handle. Plus I like that I can work full time and not deal with assignments, papers, driving to school, etc...... It does require a lot of self motivation. I was really hoping that I would be further along in this process. If there is anyone that is going through the program and needs a study partner, let me know. I live in MI. Just need some encouragement and know that others have been through this too.

Thanks

As an Excelsior grad, I DO know just how time-consuming, demanding, and tedious your task is. Thumbs up to you !

Just wanted to let you know there are SEVERAL here on this BB who are enrolled and experiencing what you are... you can find some of them by going to the forum named "distance learning", as well as other threads on teh subject... poke around, you'll find them !

Hang in there, and wish you the best !!!

Hi Kim,

I graduated from Excelsior (then Regents) in November of 1999. I was an LPN and a single mom working full-time. It was the only way I could complete my degree. It took me longer than I had anticipated also b/c of a hysterectomy and then the death of my dad. Don't be hard on yourself. You will finish and that's what matters most. I know there have been some changes in the tests and CPNE but if you need any advice, feel free to email me. You can do this! I did it and my family always teases me that I have ADD (I don't, really). Hang in there and best wishes.

Kelly
