  1. What are some pay rates/scales for jobs at Banner? Thanks
  2. Thanks for the replies. The university is now at $535 a credit hour.
  3. Ok, here is my situation and would like some feedback. I was going to an university that was quite costly and not in the greatest of neighborhoods and not the greatest of teachers. Circumstances had me quit school half way through. So then I decided to go through the distance learning way. Took the clinicals twice and was unsuccessful. So now do I go back to the traditional school? Other factors: work is one of them. I have a nice job as a nurse tech. I rotate days and midnights. The scheduler likes me to an extent, because I pick up extra hours and help out. But now I'll be throwing a school schedule less than 2 weeks before. It willl limit my hours to work. I need to put in as many hours as possible. I have many bills to pay and no help whatsoever. I would like to relocate to AZ the beginning of next year. Not sure if getting into schools there is easier. But it seems the cost of living seems to be more reasonable than here(MI). I have a apt style condo that is very hard to sell. The area is overpopulated with condos. People have been trying to sell theirs for 3 years or so with no luck. I have had suggestions of filing bankruptcy and don't really want to go that route. I was thinking maybe working two jobs and try to pay down debt, then start school in Jan. in AZ. If I want to sign up for school here, I need to do it fairly soon. So any advice, opinions, suggestions, or insight is greatly appreciated!!!
  4. Hi I was wondering if anyone could offer advice or suggestions for me. I have been in the medical field for about 18 years. Mainly doing medical billing. I was going to an university and completed 2 years of the nursing program. Circumstances came up and I was unable to continue. I'm going through Excelsior and have one more test to take before the CPNE. I was working as a nurse intern at a hospital for about 8-9 months, then hours started getting cut. Needing to support myself I found another billing job. I'm also looking at trying to get a nurse assistant job or something more clinical to keep my skills up. I just have this fear that even with a RN behind my name I will find it hard to get a job. I was thinking of going for an EMT to get some experience. Since there is a wait for the CPNE. But I don't know if that's a good idea. I could be done with both at the same time? One hospital said that without LPN experience the VP of nursing there won't even consider hiring someone from Excelsior. So now I'm worried that I have made a huge mistake by doing this. So any advice or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Kim
