Excelsior Books

OK...I'm still very confused on what the right way is to study for Excelsior tests. I know they have their textbooks but I did find a current College Network study guide on ebay for $40 for the general psychology...would this book prepare me or are the College Network study guides not good? I'd hate to study from it and then fail the test and then go buy the book. Any feedback from anyone using the College Network guides? Also can someone tell me which text book is the best for general psych?

I'd appreciate the help. :-)

The College Network guides are kind of like heavy-duty Cliff notes, if that helps give you a point of reference -- not quite as thin as Cliff notes, not quite as thick as a textbook. Many people have found that TCN study guides don't quite cover everything on an exam. I had some used TCN modules that I purchased on eBay to help me study for A&P and Micro, but I didn't use only the TCN guides.

i used the tcn modules for sociology, across lifespan 1+2 and passed. i also used the tcn module for micro but like lisa said, i didn't only use tcn. when it came to the nursing concepts, i did not feel that tcn modules were covering everything on the ec content guides so i stopped using them and went just to text books.

Thank You. I think I'm gonna use the TCN and either studygroup or larands for this for Lifespan Developmental Psych test. :-)

If anyone has any of the Excelsior textbooks on sale for Mico, A&P, or the nursing...let me know. I'd be intersted to buy.

I used TCN for every thing and did well but in the nursing concepts I borrowed books to reference things I needed more info on. Thank goodness for friends in nursing school so I didn't have to buy books. Melissa NREMT-P, GN

I bought some of the TCN books used on ebay, but did not use them very much. I found http://www.flashcardexchange.com and NCLEX review books to be also helpful, as well as the study notes from sg101 that I got off ebay.
