If two answers sound correct, what is a good tip for choosing the right one? How do you know? I would appreciate any advice from someone who has taken the LPN tests. Thanks! -Aileen

The one that answers the question LOL! But seriously, what is the question asking you? If they both answer the question, which one is in the best interest of the patient? ABCs, safety, priority, etc...

Maybe you could post a question that you are having a problem with??

Many times there will be two or more answers that seem right, just go back and see what the question is actually asking.

If one is answering the question and one is a correct action that is not answering the question pick the one that answers the question.

If they are both correctly answering the actual question then pick the one that should be done first.

follow your priority using ABC, then Maslow needs. read question carefully, sometimes there is word that is essential (key word/term) and you just skip it or wouldn't pay attention to and it will help you to choose correct one. esp. that nclex is like that. i just took it last monday and it was hard but when you know your priority you should be fine. best luck to you,

if you have a nclex study guide, you will find information in there on how to answer these questions. here is a link that may help you:

also, you should check out this site every week for the new nclex practice question. they give the answer to the question and rationale for it.

I was just going to post this. Other word to be on the lookout for are always and never.

I would always narrow it down to the 2 and then use Maslow's heiarchy to pick the best one. Unforunately I didn't realize this until the final exam, but I did really well on it using this system.
