Has anyone gone through this program? If so, how did you like it? And, if this is applicable, were you able to apply for advanced placement to the MCCD RN program?
I am seriously considering this option, despite the price tag, $8300, as it is either this, the Banner program (to which I can and will apply in Dec), or wait the two years to get in the "normal" route. Considering my spot on the list at this point, yes I am being realistic and know it will be probably 2 yrs for me to wait. Especially if they are only just getting to those applicants with a June 07 date stamp.
So, it is either EVIT or Banner. At least EVIT I can do at night and still work full time. It is just a lot of money to shell out right now. I would have to do student loans to cover the majority of it.
So, if anyone has any experience with EVIT, please share! I would appreciate it greatly!

I am curious about this program as well. I want to cover all my bases.
But knowing my luck I'd finish all the requirements and still not get in for 2 years.

I am new to this board and wondering if anyone has personal experience with EVIT. I am currently enrolled in the PN Program there. I am wondering what your experiences were there? I know there were issues last year but since then they have new instructors, but I am feeling this is a self-taught program with little direction/teaching from the instructors. ....so any suggestions or input would be great.

Gateway has an LPN program it starts in January. The application period starts at the end of the month. You have to get everything together, get your app approved and signed then you can apply during the specific application days. I don't want to wait two years either, Ugh!

I've always enjoyed school, but I actually look forward to coming to class every day at EVIT. I am particularly enjoying the Foundations of Nursing class. It has been very interesting and interactive. Every day we do something new and creative. I look forward to the same experience in Adult Health Nursing. I know nursing school can get very boring and serious at time, but somehow some teachers create a very fun learning environment. I enjoy the activities, group projects and role playing. This makes what we are learning more realistic, and it is also a great way for us to get to know one another. I am grateful to have an instructor who has so many years of experience as a nurse, and whose knowledge bank is incredible. Wherever there is a question, there is an answer, along with a good example. I recently helped my mom with a pretest for a new RN position she is applying to. She was absolutely shocked at how much I knew already and that I was able to help. My mom is very satisfied and relieved to know that I am getting exceptional education. We continue to strongly recommend the EVIT PN program at work, to friends and anyone interested in such a program.

I am also a student at EVIT. Before you seriously consider entering this program, you ought to that they have just been issued a deficiency by the state board. The program has some very serious problems and they have been given only 60 days to fix them before the program is closed. Akhere is entitled to her opinion, but she seems to be the only one in the program who thinks the way she does about it. The rest of us are pretty upset. No one was told before entering that it is a self-taught program with instructors as "guides". In three months, we have passed off only a handful of skills. When we go to clinicals we have little to do except help out CNA's. Before I applied to EVIT, I would wait and see if they are able to make the needed changes. By the way, EVIT is not able to accept students for next year right now - another thing from the state board.
