Is anyone planning to apply for Fall 2014 at Everett CC? If so what are your TEAS scores? Mine is a 79.3%. I hear Fall usually has higher scores because there are more applicants. So I'm thinking of reapplying until I get lucky. Anyone hear of the lowest TEAS score accepted into the program?

I am applying but during the info session she said they didn't admit anyone below a 80%. This makes me very nervous. I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I'm bad at those kind of tests.
I went to the info session as well and she said that no one below an 82% was accepted during the last quarter. I've already taken the TEAS twice at Bellevue. The first time I got a 70% and the second time I got a 79.3%. I can't retake it for quite a while so I will have to try my best to get in with my 79.3%. I do much better on paper exams. I get really stressed with online exams. The TEAS is hard for some and easy for others. Although the National Average of scores is much lower than what is required for the schools in Washington. Good luck on the exam. You will have to share your score once you complete the exam. I'm hoping that the applicants for Fall have lower TEAS scores than recent applicants. I'll be crossing my fingers for both of us. I'm sure you will do well on the exam.
Any advise for taking the test, what did you think was hard? The school sounds like they have their stuff together though. If you get in they set you up for success. I was at the last info session if you were there you might remember me. I was the one of two that asked my the bridge program. I'm bummed they are doing away from it.
I attended the info session on Feb. 11th. Is that the one you were at? No one in our info session was currently an LPN and by your username it seems that you are. That's a bummer for the current LPN's. I was really excited about the program at Everett after leaving the info session. Being able to see the classrooms was neat too. They seem to really advocate for the students which is really important to me. I completed all of my prerequisites at Shoreline CC and I have heard horror stories about the program there. So far I have applied at Bellevue CC and I plan to apply at Everett CC for Fall. I will keep applying at Everett if I don't get in. I just have my SOC or Anthropology Course to take during Spring quarter and then I will be done with all the prerequisites.
As far as advice for the TEAS....I would recommend studying Science and make sure you refresh yourself with math. (Percentages, Average, Algebra, multiplication and division of large numbers (where the decimal goes). Many people seem to do poorly on the English language usage section. Know where parenthesis go, compound sentences, spelling of difficult words, adverbs, pronouns, conjunctions, etc. I really recommend getting the TEAS V study guide through ATI. It really helped me a lot.
The first time I took the TEAS I ran out of time in the Math section but did well in the others. I then focused my studies on the Math. The second time I got a 90% in the Math section, did well in the Science and didn't do as well in the Reading and English language usage section (Probably because I assumed I was fine with them based on the previous score). I think if I would have given myself more study time I would have done better... but I was sort of on a deadline in order to apply at Bellevue. So study study study!!!
Are you done with all of your prerequisites? I'm trying to decide if I want to take SOC or Cultural ANTH. I understand that Cultural ANTH also fulfills a Diversity requirement for the RN to BSN UW Bothell but I've already completed my Diversity requirements. I am also planning to take Spanish so that I can fulfill all of my BSN requirements before getting into a RN program....if I ever get into one....
Yes I was at the last info session on Feb 11th. I would take cultural anth because sociology does not cover the diversity requirement for Everett. This is annoying since I have sociology already. I'm waiting on SU to send out their letters of acceptance/rejection before I decided what I am taking next quarter.
When are you supposed to hear? That is exciting. You will have to let me know what they say. I hate how all the schools have different requirements. It's extremely frustrating. It will be nice when they all have the same requirements. After my SOC/ANTH class I will have all prerequisites done for all the schools besides a current CNA certification. I took a CNA course about 10 years ago but didn't get certified. Do you have your CNA?
I used to have my CNA but that was years ago. I don't need the CNA certificate because I have my LPN license. I'm suppose to hear back about SU at the end of March, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll have to take anthropology and communications if I apply to Everett.
I think if I take Anthropology I'll have to take the 12:20 T/Th class at Everett. If it fills up I'll probably just take the online SOC at Shoreline or Everett.

I would definitely take soc101 if you are taking the class at evcc just because I heard the teacher isn't that great and if you take soc101 you can just take any class with a diversity credit.
Fall is the hardest quarter to get into. Winter and spring are much easier. The lowest score for winter last quarter was a 78. and the lowest score accepted for spring last year was a 74. I'm not sure what the lowest score was for fall but I know its the most competitive quarter to apply for.
