EvCC spring 2015 applicants

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for spring applicants and can post TEAS scores if desired. I got a 79.3 on my first attempt and didn't get in for winter. I am stuck trying to decide if I should retake for spring. They only take the second score so its a gamble if I happen to score lower. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Modonn05 did you get your TEAS invite? I got mine today. The TEAS is scheduled for Jan.29th. Did you decide if you are going to retake it?

For some reason I'm not getting notified anymore when someone posts. I did get an invite kkay, THANK GOD! Lol but I decided to not retake it. I'll retake for fall if I don't get in for spring. I like the suggestion of taking it elsewhere on my time. Plus if I completely blow it I'm only about a year from being able to retake instead of almost 2. My friend got in for winter with an 80 (she was wait listed initially) so I think you and I really have a chance!

marculi - I am going to retake it else where if I don't get in for spring. I really like your suggestion doing it on my time. i haven't had great luck with their office either. Good luck to you! (Even though I know you will get in!) :) and now we wait.... AHHH!

I hate the waiting process for the letter. It's the worst part. Has anyone heard when the letters are going out?

The wait is the worst :( no idea when they are sending them out. I'm too nervous to call them and ask lol

My guess is that some of us may be receiving letters within the next day and definitely by Wednesday of next week... Most other post I have read about Everett seem to show a very quick decision after the scheduled teas test. Most letters are received by students within 10 days of completing their scheduled teas exam.

I got my acceptance letter from SVC today... As soon as I hear from Everett I can give them an answer

Congrats Lucylyn! At least you're in somewhere lol, which will you choose?

Yes Lucylyn!!! Congrats!!! That is so exciting! It must feel so good. You know you are getting into Everett with your scores so which will you pick? I called yesterday and the lady said that the committee is meeting next week so we should not expect letters until the following week (and since there is a holiday) she said it could be after the 17th. :( Boo....I am really hoping she is wrong and the letters go out right away.

Oh man that is forever away :( Thanks for calling them kkay. Good luck everyone, try to stay patient and post as soon as you hear something!

If I get accepted to Everett I will definitely choose it over Skagit. The program has been around a lot longer, they seem more professional, and they are have clinical rotations are several hospitals rather than just one. I feel like my chances of getting hired at a hospital rather than a long term care facility would be greatly increased if I have the chance to have done some clinical hours at the hospitals I plan to apply to. If I go to Skagit, then that only leaves one hospital with improved chances.

Also, the thing about improved chances isn't just coming from some gut feeling or word of mouth. I've been to several nursing conventions and job fairs specifically for nurses all across the country and it's the same thing over and over.

So... Everett for the win! But if I don't get in this time I will still go to Skagit and apply for a transfer quarter after quarter.

So I called again to find out an approximate time frame for the letters going out and I got to talk to someone different. She said that the committee met yesterday so the letters should be going out this week.

Hey guys! I applied for Spring also and am waiting for my letter! i still feel a little foggy about the exact selection process is it the highest teas scores are accepted as long as you've mad the gpa cut off or is the gpa considered as well as the teas score?! I'm kinda panicking 😂
