Just wanted to start a thread for spring applicants and can post TEAS scores if desired. I got a 79.3 on my first attempt and didn't get in for winter. I am stuck trying to decide if I should retake for spring. They only take the second score so its a gamble if I happen to score lower. Anyone else in a similar situation?
My guess is that some of us may be receiving letters within the next day and definitely by Wednesday of next week... Most other post I have read about Everett seem to show a very quick decision after the scheduled teas test. Most letters are received by students within 10 days of completing their scheduled teas exam.
Yes Lucylyn!!! Congrats!!! That is so exciting! It must feel so good. You know you are getting into Everett with your scores so which will you pick? I called yesterday and the lady said that the committee is meeting next week so we should not expect letters until the following week (and since there is a holiday) she said it could be after the 17th. Boo....I am really hoping she is wrong and the letters go out right away.
If I get accepted to Everett I will definitely choose it over Skagit. The program has been around a lot longer, they seem more professional, and they are have clinical rotations are several hospitals rather than just one. I feel like my chances of getting hired at a hospital rather than a long term care facility would be greatly increased if I have the chance to have done some clinical hours at the hospitals I plan to apply to. If I go to Skagit, then that only leaves one hospital with improved chances.
Also, the thing about improved chances isn't just coming from some gut feeling or word of mouth. I've been to several nursing conventions and job fairs specifically for nurses all across the country and it's the same thing over and over.
So... Everett for the win! But if I don't get in this time I will still go to Skagit and apply for a transfer quarter after quarter.

For some reason I'm not getting notified anymore when someone posts. I did get an invite kkay, THANK GOD! Lol but I decided to not retake it. I'll retake for fall if I don't get in for spring. I like the suggestion of taking it elsewhere on my time. Plus if I completely blow it I'm only about a year from being able to retake instead of almost 2. My friend got in for winter with an 80 (she was wait listed initially) so I think you and I really have a chance!
