EVCC Fall 2015 applicants

Published

Hey everyone! Just trying to find out roughly where everyone is at and what people scored on the TEAS for fall 2015. This is my first time applying, but I scored an 86% overall. Fingers crossed I will only have to apply this one time! Now it's a waiting game !

Starting this winter quarter they are taking only 10 students from EVCC and the other 30 are coming from UW. This will occur every winter quarter starting this winter.

When I heard about this I was so upset! I still don't understand why they don't have to go through the same process we do. If they did, they could apply any quarter and compete with the rest of us.

Wow! I wonder what the reasoning is behind that. Thanks for the info.

I would think that they still have to meet all the same standards as us. I think it's unfortunate that there isn't enough room to have more applicants can get accepted during the Winter quarter, though. But there is a down side to the UW'ers in that they can only enroll in the ADN once a year and other applicants can re-apply on a rolling basis and hoopefully not have to wait until the following year. I don't know how that whole thing works, but I'm guessing that would be the case...

I think it has to do with UW Bothell's BSN program being on our campus. Everett has an arrangement with UW Bothell that allows Everett grads to apply after the ADN program and it's just one night a week on campus for a year for the BSN part. I think we also get a break on a couple of the prereq's for the BSN program, but I could be mistaken.

I guess it makes more sense if there is that reciprocity. So if I am understanding it correctly... They do all their pre-reqs there and then can come to everett but winter quarter only(starting the program)? Why wouldn't they be able to apply on a rolling basis? I know that this thread isn't about that, but I still wish I understood fully. EVCC accepts transcripts from other schools why would UW transcripts be any different? Or because we can do the one year BSN through them we allow for sure 30 students per year into the program? Oh my, I'm not even sure why I'm tripping about this.

Hey Jessica,If I understand correctly, the cohort group does all the prerequisite work at UW Bothel and then do the ADN program on Everett's campus. I don't know much beyond that other than that UW Bothell's program is usually applied for by highschool seniors and they do the course work at UW Bothell and then come to Everett for the ADN portion.

Things are starting to become a little more clear! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that none of us will be affected by it because we will already be in!! ((Bring on the power of positive thinking)) -oh and all the hard work that went into it before that! ;)

Anyone else feel like they are shaking in their boots waiting??!!!

:nailbiting:

I only feel like my stomach is flipping over a trapeze about 10 times a day...and when I see the mail truck.... LOL

I'm thinking they will be sending out acceptance letters end of the month. If you guys get your letter let us know! Now you're making me think about it! I've been trying not to! Ugh....

I heard that they didn't have as many applicants as usual for this fall quarter, most likely due to the changes in the application process. So, this should give everyone a slightly better chance of getting in. Good Luck!
