  1. I don't remember anymore, & I think the point system may have changed since the first time it was used.
  2. Remember that the 90 day probationary period is a two way street. Just as they have the right to terminate you without notice within those ninety days, YOU have the same right to leave without giving 2 weeks notice during those first 90 days. That 90 day period is a trial run for both employer AND employee. If at any time during those ninety days either party feels it is not a good fit, then they are free to terminate the relationship immediately. Employers will sometimes try to pressure employees into staying, or fail to tell them of these rights because it's in their best interest to make sure they aren't stuck without an employee to do the job. If you stay longer than the ninety days, however, you will be expected to stay for a reasonable amount of time in the job (6 mo. to a year at the least) & give proper notice. Failure to do these after you've been there longer than ninety days will look bad to future employers.
  3. Happy New Year! Looking forward to meeting you also.
  4. It was good to meet those who will be starting this winter quarter. See you after the new year!
  5. That is a great score! 98 out of a possible 100 points for that category. Of course, these points are part of a bigger picture now with the new point system, but if you did well in the other categories too, then you may be sitting pretty right now.
  6. I'm looking forward to meeting those who will be at the testing on December 4th. A group has been created on Facebook called "EvCC Nursing Winter 2016" for anyone in the class that wants to join.
  7. Just a reminder, if you got your acceptance packet, you have to verify that you want to accept by October 8, or your spot will go to someone else. Good Luck!!!
  8. This thread hasn't gotten a lot of traffic, which might mean there were fewer applicants overall, compared to other quarters. But, going by what you've said so far, it looks like your total points are in the same neighborhood as mine were. So, if it turns out that there were fewer applicants than usual, because people didn't want to take the new test yet, or didn't want to compete for only 10 spots, then the odds are in your favor. That, plus, it sounds like more than the ten spots opened up due to some not meeting the 106 cut off score. I don't know how many spots opened up though. I heard someone say 15, but I don't know if that meant 15 total, or 15 additional.
  9. It's hard to tell. It all depends on your total points. If the 3.3 GPA was from all your Biology pre-req's, then you should have 82.5 points, plus 91 points from your PAX test.
  10. I got 134, which was at 94th percentile, so I got 94 out of 100 possible points for the PAX part of the point system. If you log into the NLN site to see your score, you can see where that puts you at for your percentile, which determines how many points you got. Good Luck!
  11. The Facebook group page is up! Search for EvCC Nursing Winter 2016 to find it, or post here if you want me to add you.
  12. Got my packet today :) Congrats to everyone else who also got in this winter quarter! I will try to set up a facebook page for those that want to communicate there, as this site isn't getting as much traffic. Looking forward to meeting you all on December 4th!
  13. Letters should be going out this week...
  14. Good luck to you all! I went through the app process more or less as a practice run for the PAX test, but ended up not doing as bad as I thought I would. Plus, I heard that there ended being more than 10 slots available, so everyone has a better shot of getting in than previously thought.
