EVC Nursing 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, I haven't found a forum for the new nursing application for Evergreen Valley College. I was wondering anyone can share their scores. I have 62, I am not sure if its high enough to get into the program.

We also need GE courses completed or BA/BS degree. Are you looking into doing it? I want to do it to, so I'll email the SJSU and EVC for more details.

This was in regards to EVC's pilot program that they are doing with SJSU.

Yes! I re watched the video and it said based off space and different criteria like interviews . I’m so scared because I’m horrible at interviews and first impressions? so biased...

so I imagine there is a cap in space. So let’s say EVC has 40-42 (80ish total with Spring)spots to starts for fall 2021, I don’t see every single person signing up due to cost (4K normal at EVC vs 19K for dual SBCEP) and not being able to work because you will not be successful according to their recommendations which I believe. Thankfully I live with my parents so I’m good but not everyone can not work even a little so that’s something to take into account. Nursing school in general they don’t recommend to work but this is super different and don’t want you to work at all if you’re committed to SBCEP and want to be successful. So let’s say they estimate realistically 1/2 get offered a seat so 20 students dually enroll at SJSU; really we don’t know the chances of getting selected given that not everyone has 60 units, can afford the cost even with financial aid and not work on top of that.

IDK we’ll see...

Wow! That is a lot of money, I wanted to work too, but I guess that won't be an option.

Anyone here know the process on getting a CSU GE certification? I’m coming from Chabot College and requested one from them but I imagine we need approval from EVC. Or do we wait from EVC nursing to see what the process is to get it. The SBCEP program requires you to have it and I imagine that EVC would want us to get certified through their college but how do we know that all of our courses from a different CC will be equivalent? like PE... I took a 5k pe course not All colleges offer this course

That's a good question, maybe we'll know more once they finalize the program.

So glad to have found this thread.

I received a notice that I'm accepted to the 2021/22 program, but they haven't said whether I'll start in Fall or Spring. I really want a Spring start and I wasn't interested in doing the dual enrollment with SJSU.

Glad to get to know some members of the class before it really starts.

I have a doctor's appointment set up to review my titers for the vaccinations. If my titers come back low, I'll have to start the vaccine series (which may take a couple months to catch up with).

When I emailed --------------------, she asked to wait until the orientation meeting in May to get the other required items (ie, CPR cert, fit test, etc) taken care of.

Awesome! I got my booster for I think Hep B and Varicella (IDK if right names) last week because my blood results came back showing low antibodies. Everyone Be aware that you need two doses a month apart! So it’ll be awhile before it will show on my results!

Has anyone received the link to the mandatory zoom orientation or know when they'll be sending it? I haven't received any link to the orientation yet, only the date and time it'll be at.

No, I haven't received any additional information either.

Hello! I want to apply to EVC  and I'm wondering how big is the cohort and do they only take applications once a year, if so is it for both fall and Spring?

The cohort size depends every year, it could go to a couple hundred to almost 400. They only take apps once a year which begins in the fall. They accept around February, and they'll let students know if they got in for the fall semester or if they are an alternate. Hope this helps

Hey! I wanted to check in and see if any of the alternative students have had any updates?

Thanks!
