Eugene/Springfield, Medford, Bend, K-Falls?

U.S.A. Oregon

Hello All!

I am planning a move back to Oregon and am trying to figure out which city to pick. I love snow and snow sports in the winter and gardening and cycling/hiking the rest of the year. I don't like it too hot and dry in the summer. I also, need my arts and culture. Which town from the above list would best fit me in Oregon? Any help would be appreciated!

Thought I'd drop in on the conversation. My fiance and I (actually I'm asking her on this trip) are going on a scouting trip this Sept.. We are traveling from Bellingham, WA to Redding, CA. Trying to decide on a place to move next year. I'm an RN and a PTA (physical therapist assistant). I've worked ICU the last 2.5 years as an RN but am switching to home health. Anyone have any info on the home health scene or the PT scene in OR? My fiance's sister lives in Bend so that will be one of our stops as well. Gotta get out of Tulsa, OK.

I just moved back HOME to the little town NEXT DOOR to Eugene and have gone back to work at the same place I was born. This is a GREAT area to live, if you can tolerate the long gray winters. I was in Northern WA the last 4 years...and very little summer and LONG LONG rainy winters there. Personally, when I get done with my RN degree, I am thinking of Bend as a place to live for awhile. Actually will probably live outside of Bend, since their housing market is so high priced. My son just moved to Bend...and they have lovely summers, although for some, may be too hot. And lots of winter AND summer sports.

Eugene/Springfield is a good place to raise kids. Lots of outdoor activities and lots of diverse cultural experiences. The coast is only an hour's drive, and you can get to snow for skiing in the winter in about the same time.

Wherever you go....OREGON is a wonderful place to live. I have been a PROUD Oregonian all but 4 years..and I am just so happy to be back home. GO DUCKS!!!

HI

unless you are really into greenhouses,,, Kfalls and Bend are pretty much out for gardening.. too short a time between killing frosts.. Medford is generally warmer, and hottest in the summer,, Eugene would be the "mildest" and wettest and least sun days!!

But I have found, after living in many places.. that they are what you make it!!

any neuro rehab units in oregon that you all can recommend??

I live in eugene, and it's a wonderful place to live. I'd choose here.
