Hello. I signed a contract with the ohio board of nursing in November 2013. I start urine testing the end of this month. I am a waitress where serving alcohol is a necessity. I was wondering if possibly I get some alcohol on my fingers while serving or cleaning up a spill will cause a false positive. I'm starting to have anxiety attacks and not sleeping because I am scared straight. It seems like getting a false positive can be so easy. I'm doing urine tests for 6 months. I am driving myself crazy with worry so any feedback would be great. Thank you

Hmm no I don't think so.
You will do fine if you don't drink!
Good luck :)

I have never avoided vanilla, hand sanitizer, or food that has been made with etoh. I have never had a positive ETG/ETS. My states limit is higher than a zero tolerance policy, but in general people with positive ETG/ETS are actually drinking.

Don't drink it, wash your hands if exposed. Should be ok as long as your not like soaking your hands in the margarita machine. :)

I use hand sanitizer many times daily at work and never had a false positive. Oh and last week a family friend asked if I could help out with a charity fundraiser she was putting on and I said sure. When I got there she asked if I could give the guys at the beer table a break and I said sure. Didn't mind pouring beer for people but didn't like it when changing kegs and had one blow up in my face and soak me with beer.... Fear not I have tester twice since and still no positive for etoh.
Thank you everyone for your replies! I might be over reacting but just on edge cause I don't want to lose this opportunity for a second chance to my nursing career!
