Does/did anyone attend this school? I was wondering how competitive it is to enter either their LPN or RN program? Thanks so much in advance!

Dana,
The program is very good, and extremely competitive. I can only speak on the RN program. I was excepted into the January 2007 class. They are looking at the following:
1. Overall GPA
2. GPA in Math, English 101 and A&P1
3. NET Composite Score
4. NET (Math) Score
5. NET (Reading) Score
Each component is scored between 0 and 5, for a high score of 25.
You are then ranked by score and invited to the program. It proabaly works the same way for the LPN program. So your GPA may not be the greatest however you can pick up points in ohter areas.
Do not be discouraged.

]Dana: It is kind of tough to get in. I just completed the second semester of the RN program. The professors are great. Lots of work, lots of studying - but definately worth the time and energy to get in, and stay in. Don't know much about the PN program. Aimee
Aimee,
I will be starting the Nursing 108 in the fall, do you have any pointers. I hear that it truly is the make or break you semester. Overall how did your class do. Nursing 107 we started out with 78 students and I'm now hearing that only 38 passed.
mocow 2006: 108 is fab. Really hard work. We lost a bunch of people too, but not as many as you.
The thing that worked out best for me was using the Iggy Study Guide, it helped me study like nothing else. I know they don't ask us to buy it but I couldn't have gotten by without it. And DON'T skip lecture, you'll be sorry, they talk specifics there that WILL end up on your exams.
And register on the Evolve site - http://evolve.elsevier.com/staticPages/index.html
for resources for Iggy and the Pharmacology book. Excellent. There's a good Acid-Base resource at http://www.acid-base.com/ . And a good EKG site with a free (last time I used it) EKG tool http://www.skillstat.com/learn.htm. There are some really good books in the MLK library too, upstairs. Use every resource you can. And be good to your profs. They are great, and they are your best allies.
I wish there was a forum where all the ECC nursing students could talk to each other. Or a study group that we could all come to. We need each other.
Good luck. Do well. If I can help, let me know.

Dont have they a wait list there ????
Elena121, ECC does not have a wait list. If you do not get into the program you will have to re-apply and you will have to compete against a new pool of people.
