Normally ESRD patients have calcium anywhere from 7.5-11.0, anything outside of that needs to be reported. Phosphorus levels can vary wildly also. They can have a PO4 of 2.3 and need replacement, or it can be 9.8 and they need to take their binders with EVERY meal. Our nephrologists say anywhere between 2.5-10.0 is considered somewhat normal, outside of that would need to be reported. If their phosphorus is greater then 5, they need education about diet and phosphorus binders (phoslo, calcium acetate, tums, renvela).

Hi! Just want to ask if anyone could help me with the acceptable laboratory values of Calcium and Phosphate with esrd patients; considering that they are no longer healthy individuals? Thanks!
