I wanted to know about this class for LPN-RN students which is called "mathematics of dosage". It says challenge LPN next to it. What does it mean? I'm an lpn student now so does that mean I'm exempt from that class or can I take it ahead of time? Also, for the 5.5 leap credit hours, are any classes accepted for that? I have an extra 6 credit hours from classes I took that were not needed in nursing (changed majors). So would any 6 credits count for this? I took physics (3 credits) and logic (3 credits) and passed them both.
There at GCC you can't transfer other RN courses and when I went to the meeting they were saying in order to get into the program from LPN you have to do their bridge courses which are 2 half semester courses. You can call and double check with them though. It might be good to go back to Trocaire if your going to be completing bridge courses there
Sorry to hear . I mean I know you want this all done and over with but a good thing that I did and a lot of people do is once you get your lpn. Work for that year. Save money, apply for scholarships if your job offers that and take advantage of tuition reimbursement through the job.also you can retake a certain class to increase your GPA. Depending on the programs you apply to it might take a year to get in if your grades are not quite a 3.0.
Also, what is the schedule like for clinicals? Is it 2 days a week? At Trocaire, the RN students go to clinical 1 week and get the following week off and so forth. I noticed Trocaire is the only school where nursing students do 2 clinicals a semester. All othsr nursing schools do 1. Anyways, how does it work at GCC? How many hours and what times do they start?
I'm not sure from people I work with that are students their clinicals are very involved and they go two days out the week sometimes more depending on the rotation. In their preceptorship in the last semester they have to do so many hours one on one with a nurse. They schedule those hours though

That's fine. But as far as the transition course, I can cross register with my last PN course here at Trocaire right? Or do I have to wait after I graduate LPN school to take the transition course? They don't consider the transition course a core RN class for some reason.
