Erie community college nursing questions?

I wanted to know about this class for LPN-RN students which is called "mathematics of dosage". It says challenge LPN next to it. What does it mean? I'm an lpn student now so does that mean I'm exempt from that class or can I take it ahead of time? Also, for the 5.5 leap credit hours, are any classes accepted for that? I have an extra 6 credit hours from classes I took that were not needed in nursing (changed majors). So would any 6 credits count for this? I took physics (3 credits) and logic (3 credits) and passed them both.

Well, I took 6 classes. I passed 4 and failed 2 courses. I failed 2 core nursing classes with a 71.5 and 67. I need a 75 to pass. If I passed that 1 credit course that I got a 71.5 in, I would of got a chance to repeat. So now I'm trying to set myself up part time. One of my classes next semester is a LPN and a RN course at the same time, once I get rid of it, I won't have to take it again in the RN program. It's a dosage course. I should of set myself part time from the start.

Well that's good you can knock out a class. Will the school allow you to come back for the bridge? Would it would be easier to bridge there where they know you then try to bridge with that in your history? I'm glad you decided to stick with nursing because some people who fail gives up all together.

I have a high chance of getting back in. If your're coming through the LPN program, you only need a 2.5 to get in where as a entry level RN student would need at least a 3.0. My problem now is a financial obligation. I don't know how I'll pay for my RN, this school is expensive and the only other good school is GCC but it's far like 1 hour away. My hospital can pay for that easily since it's cheap but here, no. $1600 is the max I can get and it's chump change at a private school.

I feel like I will finish my LPN because everyone says that the LPN med surge from first semester is the hardest class. The last level is easy but I might slpit it up to maximize my chances of getting the highest grades possible as well as saving money to continue for my RN. My last semester should be 15 credits but for now I only registered for 8 credits and will post pone the last course for spring. It's 3 courses, a 7 credit peds nursing course, a 1 credit math course and a 7 credit mental health nursing course. The 7 credit courses include a clinical too.

When do you get done with your LPN?

I got my prior degree from GCC. They are a great school. My sister goes there. Its competitive and hard but she loves it. They are strict in their process for admission from what I heard from people who go there.

Do you know what GPA you need to get into the bridge program?

I'm planning to finish in May. I'm splitting up my last semester into 2 semesters.

You need a 3.0 in these classes anatomy, physiology, microbiology, psych, lifespan, English 101maybe english 102 which are first and se cond level engine. And I think sociology. You have to go to an info session before you even apply. Then you make an appt with someone who sits with you and goes through your materials and fills out the application for you. Its like a screening process. If you failed a science you ineligible, if you failed out of a program you need documentation from that program head. My sister had a 3.8 in her pre reqs with no repeats.

Yeah, next May. I contacted them and they said I can still apply.

Yea she goes there now. They are very strict about a 3.0 average but they count the average based on these classes.. . Psych anatomy phys micro (if you took it) English 1 English 2 lifespan(if you took it) chemistry. They turned me away the first Time a few years ago because my average was a 2.92 so I had to retake a class. But I never reapplied after.she is taking her bridge courses still I can ask her if she did her schedule for the next semester yet. Her average was a 3.8.sorry for some reason I got a message saying I can't send Private messages
