U.S.A. Kentucky

I am interesting to know people's opinions on the busiest ER in either Louisville and Lexington, KY. I have always worked for a very busy and "gun club" type facilities and plan to stay in this type of environment. Looking to move and all of your input would be great. Thank you in advance.

Not a nurse yet, but I've been in EMS in this area for five years so I can say that all the ER's TEND to get busy. The busiest in Louisville is probably University Hospital followed by Norton and Jewish Downtown. It's just they are the 'downtown' hospitals and tend to get the businest. Your rest are all relatively as busy as the rest. You want to stay away from all the Jewish Satellite hospitals as they tend to be the least busy and while Norton Brownsboro CAN get busy, it usually is RELATIVELY quiet.

Who sees the most traumas (GSW's , etc)?

Hi hmpluta, I would say University Hospital in Louisville would get the majority of the traumas as they are a designated level one trauma center. I do believe they are only the second level one (adult) trauma center in Kentucky, followed by the University of Kentucky hospital in Lexington, KY.
