Heard it's nice to work there... but that pay is L-O-W!

Specializes in Geriatrics.

You can visit their website at www.ephratahospital.org

I live right down the street from it and my neighboor works in the ER. It is a very nice place and they have recently added on a brand new womens health center, they now have a cancer center and sometime soon they are building and opening a NICU.

I don't know if you would be applying for RN or LPN, but the LPNs on med-surge floors start out at $12.00/hr. For me, this is a pay CUT, I currently make $13.50 as a CNA so I won't be going there to work. If you are looking for a hospital around this area Reading Hospital is another very nice place, the pay is a lot better with LPNs starting out around $16.00. Their website is www.readinghospital.org

Good Luck!! This a very nice part of PA!!:)

I am going there as a traveling rn so my pay is pretty decent & they will provide me an apartment. What kind of apartments do they have? Thank you all for responding!:)

Specializes in Cardiac/telemetry.

I am not sure what the pay is like. I have lived in this town most of my life. It is a great place to live. I have been an independent contractor with this hospital for close to 20 years as a medical transcriptionist. I have done this for other places, but this was the best place for paying on time, etc. Also, have been at ECH as a patient. I would recommend it to anyone.

Having said that - Good luck!

Not true. While there are a lot of Amish and Mennonite, it's actually a very diverse area, and the Plain do not make up the majority (it's not "Witness"). There are lots of Philly commuters; housing is cheaper, and it's just a little over an hour's drive to Center City.

I worked there for several years. I can pm you additional info if you're interested.
