Has anyone taken the entry exam for an LPN program? Is it anything I need to worry about? Is it just to weed out the low performers? I am bright and was a good student (above average, at least). My big worry is that I have been out of school for many years. Please help....
do you know which test they will be using? At my school they used the TEAS for both RN and LPN. Find out exactly which test they use and get their study guide.
I took the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education). It was comprised of very basic reading comprehension, writing skills, and arithmetic. If you can read, write, and do math at a middle school level, then you can definitely pass the TABE. However, there are a number of LPN entrance exams floating around out there, such as the TABE, the HESI, the NET, the TEAS, and several others. They all have varying levels of difficulty. You'll need to figure out which one you'll be taking, purchase the corresponding study guide, then take the test after being prepared. Most importantly, don't worry too much, because you seem rather smart.

i took the compass test and it wasn't hard at all. it was comprised of pre-algebria, writing and reading skills. if this is the test you have to take, you have nothing to worry about....let me know how you do.
