I'm a foreign nurse with BSN degree last yr. No working experience and a permanent resident in US
I was at the military recruiter awhile ago and they told me that I couldn't be on an active duty as a nurse because I'm not yet a US citizen and instead they will put me on the army reserve and have to pass the ASVAB first. I also have to undergo the basic combat training. Is that required to all the nurses entering the military? I'm kinda confused right now. I thought that even w/o working experience, they will train you to have one. It's like they try to put me as a soldier reserve and not as a nurse. I'm confused.

You must be a US Citizen in order to obtain a commission as an officer. You have 2 options. You can enter the military as an Enlisted Soldier first allowing you to expedite your US Citizenship or you can wait and try to get your citizenship on your own. Starting enlisted is not a bad way to go.. Especially if you have 0 experience.
Good Luck.

note nurse corp only accepts BSN programs accredited by specific agencies. Was BSN obtained in US or outside of US?
I got it outside US. My Transcript of Records are now being evaluated but pretty sure it is accredited.

Your BSN must be accredited by the NLNAC or CCNE, specifically. All Army nurses are soldiers first, and we are trained accordingly. Good luck!
I am just giving you advice that you are generally going down the wrong path if seeking to be a nurse in the Army. Take some time and review these forums rather then cont' the path with standard recruiter. While there is a possibility to becoming a nurse after enlisting your chances are DRAMATICALLY reduced by going this route.. especially if degree is NLNAC / CCNE accredit, foreign schooling and by the time you have opportunity to transition enlisted to commissioned it will have been several years of not practicing as a nurse.
You can look into the accreditation yourself - requires no evaluation by recruiter.. use google. Your posts do seem confused and going through a standard recruiter will not get you to your goal of being a nurse.
Thanks my BSN has been evaluated by the NLNAC and it is accredited. I emailed someone from the Army Medical and told me that I don't have to take the ASVAB nor take the training because I already have my BSN and my green card. I'll contact my recruiter right now. Thank for the info.

That's what I'm thinking about too when I was at the recruiting office I know something is wrong. Do you know how will I contact a recruiter that specifically for nurses? My BSN is accredited by the NLNAC

You don't have to take the ASVAB to be in the Army Nurse Corp. You will direct commision as an officer. You also will not attend basic training. You will attend OBLS. Sounds like your recruiter is trying to get you to join on the enlisted side. I would recommend talking to a health care recruiter only. They'll give you the correct information and you will enter as a Officer.

I believe that You have to be a US citizen to commission as an officer, green card won't work. There is a TSgt I work with who had a visa into the US and has a master's degree (in another field). But she could not come into the service as an officer due to no citizenship.
You will not work as an RN in the military unless you commission as an officer. Enlisted members are not used as RN's even if they have the degree.
I only have a green card that's why I won't be able to become an officer in the army.
