Nursing Students TEAS

Published

Since ATI provides no student assistance to interpret scores, let's help each other! If enough of us enter our complete TEAS scores, we'll be able to compare notes to see how we rank in different programs, what to aim for if your school requires a Program percentile rank rather than a series of scores, etc. There is another thread where people are sharing their scores, but it looks like most people are just sharing their Adjusted Individual Total Score or whatever applies to their particular school. By sharing all the info, we can help each other better.

Please copy the scores below and then change them to your own, in your post! thanks! Please make sure to check your Program Type! It's right under the name of the school where you took it, on your score sheet.

I took the TEAS V yesterday. I studied my brain out. I did not expect to do this well. I scored better on the actual exam than I did on my practice tests. I used the ATI manual, I purchased one of their practice tests online, and I used KhanAcademy videos on YouTube. I think I spent probably 3-4 days just watching KA videos about everything I could as far as the science section was concerned. I had previously taken all of my science courses within the past year and a half. I would not have done this well if it were not for all of the other students on this site posting tips for others. Thanks so much!

Just in case you're curious, this was my first (only) attempt - and I didn't study except to do the McGraw Hill practice tests. I signed up to take the test with one week between registering and testing. I have a BS and it was comparing my results to the Johns Hopkins BSN program (which was a mistake-I'm not applying to that one).

I will retake it again within a month to increase my Math score. I needed a 64. Everything else was good, and my school takes the highest score of the two attempts.

Test is hard!

I feel horrible about these scores. I expected it to be higher as I have taken TEAS 4, some years ago and scored in the high 80's in both English and Math. If only I could merge my two test together. The program I planned on applying for required me to have a 92% to be competitive :(

Now, I either have to take it again, settle for a lottery based ADN program, or apply at another (much further away) University.

I used the McGraw-Hill practice test book and also took the ATI practice test A. I found both helpful, but the ATI practice test was more similar to the real thing. Just before taking the test I did a search to find out the time limits for the 4 sections and found a site that had a PDF which included information about the type of information covered on the TEAS V. It was incredibly helpful and really narrowed down the breadth of information I thought I would have to know. If you search for "TEAS V objectives" it is the site that comes up listed as "TEAS-V Test of Essential Academic Skills - Three Rivers..."

Good luck!

That ought to do it....great score!!!

I used the ATI study manual, the McGraw Hill "5 TEAS practice tests" and the "Nursing school entrance exams" and I found this book to be helpful when reviewing for science!

SparkNotes 101: Biology (A Complete Course in a Book): SparkNotes Editors: 9781411403376: Amazon.com: Bookst gives a good overview of the science topics you'll see! I found the detail to be more than enough for the test.

Good luck studying everyone! :)

Hi guys, I made an account just to post this! I'm excited that I finally have something to share. I took the test last Monday.

I'm satisfied! I have always performed poorly on tests due to anxiety, but this time around I think the anxiety may have helped! I studied for roughly a month beforehand but pretty sporadically and didn't drive myself too crazy. The weekend before the test I took two practice tests - on from the ATI Study Manual and one from McGraw-Hill. My husband took a practice test alongside me and got 25 questions wrong in the science section... oops. Anyway, now the waiting game begins! :wideyed: Good luck everyone!

Hi there! Wow you did incredible! 100 on the science portion! My program is ADN so I'm no where nearly as educated as you but I'm curious how you prepared for the exam? I just took it for the first time with basically no studying and made a 63.3. Not terrible but no where near where I need or want to be. How much did you dedicate to preparing for the test? I need to make an 80 or better the next time I take it in February and would love so help. I have the ATI Study Manual, any other resources I should invest in? Thank you for any help.

I'm not sure why my program type is listed as ADN, as I am applying to direct entry BSN and MSN programs. After seeing all the BSN scores in the 90s in this thread, I'm beginning to feel like I need a retest :-/.

Got an 82 overall on the first try. I'm going to retake it in a couple of weeks since the program that requires it extended their deadline. :)
