hi suzanne,am a foreign trained nurse living in pa with h4 visa.

which state will you recommend that i apply for nclex aside ca & ny if i want to forgo the cgfns?

am asking this because pa bon will verify your credentials again if you have a ca

lincense and i hear new york bon have a long list of people waiting.

i need your help

sorry for being a bother. i wanted to know if one can apply for a green card if that person has a visa screen cert and cgfns cert ?.thanx

If you have the Visa Screen Certificate that you get after you pass your English exams, then yes. With the CGFNS Certificate alone, no.

But you do not apply for a green card, your employer must do the petitioning for you.

Be aware that if you do not already have a nursing license in another state, you will not be endorsing but going thru the process of "licensure by examination."

hi suzanne, its me again. i called pa bon for the application for lincensure by examination,and they said they need :my nursing educaton with transcript attached and verification of certificate status sent directly from cgfns.

i called cgfns asking them how i can go about this, the lady i talked to, said pa bon needs my CES and not 'nursing education' which she said costs 225 bucks.

i called back pa bon asking for clarification, they said wasnt true and that they need they need my nursing education forms with transcipt attached.

suzanne, how do i let cgfns send these forms to pa bon. thanx

Ask them just to send a copy of the documents that they have in your file to Pa BON. They may charge you for the service, but it is not the $225. :wink2:

my question is, if you could recommend some books and cd for the areas i performed badly, ie:

growth & devt thru out the life span

prevention and early detection of disease

coping and adaptation

psychosocial adaptation

safety & infection control

i have the saunders review, saunders q&a,mosby's cd and kaplan's question trainer.

You have several books, but how were you using them? Tell me what you were doing............

CGFNS exam and NCLEX-RN are quite different beasts, qustions are different, CGFNS concentrates more on pathophysiology, as well as medical English being included.

Start reading some posts of the NCLEX discussion forum and concentrate on preparing for that.

hi, am not writing the cgfns exams again, never. am preparing for the nclex.

i read thru the 'review' several times and did the questions in between them.

when did you take the CGFNS exam? I took mine on July 13th and got the passing result on CGFNS website but they haven't yet sent my actual numerical scores. I checked the correspondence in my account, they have not mentioned it. When can I expect my results in the mail box? Thanks.

i took mine on the same day as you and got my results in the mails yesterday.

where are you located? am in pa ,may be thats why i got mine so early.

if you are in the us may be by the end of the week.

have you started preparing for nclex? when do you intend writing it?

It is usually about five to six weeks before you will receive that letter.
