I have requested a copy of my employment records ( start date, stop date, pay rate) and a copy of my last employee evaluation (which I received a copy of but have since lost, I was at this particular hospital in 2001), and was informed that I could not have a copy of these things since they were hospital property. I was just wondering if it is legal to deny ME access to MY employment records and evaluations that I signed and received copies of. This was for a HCA hospital that closed. I was NOT fired, I left full time employment because the hospital was closing, but was per diem until the hospital closed. Any info or resourses would be appreciated...Thanks

Try contacting the Illinois department of labor, they might be able to tell you what rights you have as an employee.
Thanks I didn't think of that, perhaps I'll try the TN board of labor as this is where the corporate office is supposed to be located
