Emory New RN Residency Fall 2015

U.S.A. Georgia

Hey, so I haven't seen any new threads pop up about the next round of Emory's new grad residencies. Has anyone applied recently/heard anything? I'm scheduled for an interview at Midtown on the 30th, but I'd like to talk to/hear from others going through the process or those who have already been through it. Anyone know if the interview is just the group, or if you pass the group interview and then have to come back for another one-on-one? I'm from out-of-state.

Well crap lol. If I'd've known that, I definitely would've stayed and spoken to another person! Seriously, it was all so haphazard when I showed up. I was sat in a group of a bunch of other people to wait, then told to speak with the L&D director. After that interview, which I thought went pretty well, she didn't say anything of what I was supposed to do. She handed me the Director of Women's Health Services card (even though I hadn't spoken with her), and told me to email her. I was confused, but didn't think to ask at the time because it all was so rushed. Interviewers at the same table were switching candidates around us and some were walking their candidates to the door, which I thought was supposed to happen. But mine stayed seated and didn't offer me any information about where or what I was supposed to do, she just said it was great meeting me and that HR would be in touch. I feel so bad now lol like I blew my only chance without even knowing it

It doesn't sound like you blew anything at all! She gave you a card and follow-up email request! Everyone has difficult interviewing styles, you know? Did you feel like you were able to share enough about your experiences and desire for the program? Did you ask questions? I'm sure you did a great job. I just had interests in more than one area, and since I knew all the managers were there, I requested another interview like I'd seen a few before me do. Don't stress - I'm sure you rocked it!!

It's so easy to second guess ourselves after the fact (I do this waay too often.. I'm over-analyzing every aspect of my interview. It happened so quickly that there are bits I don't even remember) but we really can't do that to ourselves!

I emailed both of them, thanked my interviewer and all that, and apologized to the director for if I was supposed to have spoken with her (why else would I have been given her email?) and thanked her for the opportunity. Thanks for the encouragement :) I really am second-guessing a lot because it was just so chaotic in there, and even if the interview itself felt fine, it all seemed so rushed and crazy.

Should we make a FB group for people?

Should we make a FB group for people?

That's a good idea, if there isn't one already. :)

If a miracle happens and I get an offer, I'd be interested to see if any of you new Midtowners from out-of-state would be interested in going halfsies on an apartment. The nice ones close to the hospital are gated which I like, but my rather paranoid folks would like to know that there's someone else around there too lol :sarcastic: Guess we'll see what happens!

I just made one, but I still have to pass my preceptor course final in 11 days.

So I'll see you guys if I graduate! í ½í¸œ

Has anyone heard any of the details of what the actual residency program entails?

Waiting is the WORST

I had an interview yesterday late afternoon with Women's Health at Emory Midtown. Since I saw many comments about having job offers the next day, it makes me wonder. Has anyone heard anything from Women's Health department yet who had interviews on April 30th? Or is it too soon? Thanks

I hate that feeling too! Wish you the best!

I haven't heard anything yet either, and I interviewed with them that day, too. Which unit are you hoping for? Wishing everyone luck through this awful waiting! Hope we get the calls we want :)
