@breezy7 I applied in January to the Clifton campus and haven't been scheduled for an interview yet.

Congrats! What are you interviewing for at Midtown, also OR? What was the interview like? The description I got was kind of intimidating: me, alone with all the unit managers in the field I'm interested in (women's health). lol

Yes, also OR for Midtown. At University I had three people interviewing me. The girl that went right before me had four people interviewing her, but one of them had to leave to go to surgery before I came in. I think it depends on your unit, but I would say expect maybe three or four people. The critical care interviews sounded strange to me, since it's apparently like a group of eight applicants with a panel of eight interviewers or something?

The experience wasn't terrible, and it was actually my first job interview ever, even outside of nursing. I was super nervous but I could tell they were trying not to seem too intimidating, which helped. They will naturally ask you to tell them about yourself and why you want to work with Emory and in that unit. I had five or six situational questions and the ever so popular "biggest strength and weakness" question. Then they asked me where I see myself in five years, and naturally I said "working with Emory!" with a laugh. They seemed to like that lol.

Hey hillaryinscrubs, do you mind giving me an example of a situational question that they asked you? I have an upcoming inteview as well and I want to nail this interview because I absolutely love Emory Hospital! Thanks in advance, anything will help. You can PM me if you want.

Sure! I'm not able to PM you since I'm a relatively new member and haven't posted enough, but here's some of what I remember:

Describe the most challenging encounter you have faced in clinical and how you handled it; describe a task or situation in which you had to pay close attention to detail; describe a situation in which you faced conflict with a coworker or classmate and how I resolved it.

There were a couple more I can't quite remember, but I felt like all of the questions were applicable to the level of experience a new grad would have. You shouldn't have any difficulty answering them. :)

No those questions aren't bad at all. Thank you so much for your help!

Anyone out there who received and returned their questionnaire still waiting on interview confirmation? I've been in touch with the recruitment office several times and keep getting the "you will be hearing from them soon" response. I'm out of state (VA) and rather anxious to hear back regarding interviews.

Also, anyone applying for peri-op at University Hospital or St. Joseph's?

I haven't even received my questionnaire yet

I haven't even received my questionnaire yet

I received my questionnaire in mid-March and was notified that they were due April 3rd.

Just received my call for an interview! I'll be interviewing at the Midtown location for med/surg. Anyone have any advice on how the med/surg interviews go? I've been applying to most places for Women's Services with no luck, so I figured I'd shift gears and try for a med/surg position.

As for the campuses - how do they differ? I opted for Midtown because it's a bit closer to me.

I'm interviewing for the neuro and CV intensive care units at Emory University Hospital on April 28. It's a group interview. I am coming from out of state as well, so I really hope it is a "one and done" interview situation.

I used to work in downtown Atlanta. If you are looking for a nice place to live, Midtown and Buckhead are very fun for young people and feel more like the city, and Decatur is known for its hipsters and has more of a small town feel. I love and miss Atlanta very much. I am interviewing in many different cities. If I get an offer from Emory, it would be hard to refuse.

I applied for peri-op at both University and Midtown in early March. I interviewed with University on April 16th and received an offer from them the next morning, so it seems like they get back to you with a decision pretty quickly. I'm not sure if they are still scheduling interviews for peri-op, but you could call or email HR and ask.

How long after your call for an interview did you get a confirmation email with directions on where to go on the day of? I assumed they'd send it right away, but I haven't received mine
