Hi everyone. Starting this thread for Emory MN fall 2022! I applied for early decision I. Feel free to post any comments/ questions/ helpful tips! Wishing everyone the best of luck!
Hi everyone!
I just recently applied and submitted everything for the Fall 2022 MN Entry program for the regular decision deadline. I am coming all the way from Los Angeles, CA and I have been applying to several accelerated nursing programs in hopes of getting into at least ONE.
I only uploaded the unofficial copies of my transcripts to the portal as I believe the application presentation stated that unofficial transcripts for the review process was acceptable. Can someone confirm this? I would hate for my application/pre-requisites to not be reviewed because of this discrepancy.
Much thanks and best of luck to you all!! ?

Hi! Yes, you only have to submit your official transcripts if you’ve been accepted.
Hi! Looking for some advice:
I applied for the ED2 deadline for MN program and was accepted (yay!), but am still waiting for the decisions of other schools I applied to. It looks like that some of the other schools won't be releasing deadlines until past the commit date for Emory -- if we pay the deposit to hold our spot (does anyone know how much that is?), are we able to back out later? What is the general practice/etiquette about this? I really want to know whether I got into the other schools I applied to before having to fully commit to one...

Hello! Congratulations on your acceptance!? I applied for the regular decision deadline so I am still awaiting a decision and I am uncertain about the deposit. Is the deposit amount not stated in your acceptance letter or on any other form located in the portal?
From what I have seen from other forums, you really take a gamble when it comes to putting a deposit down for programs because they generally are non-refundable. Most programs have a deposit between $300-$500 which is a good chunk of money, however, if you are able to afford that then I would recommend putting the deposit down to ensure you have a spot in a program. You are totally allowed to back out and enroll somewhere else, but you just lose the money from the deposit.

I applied for regular decision 1 for the MN program! Definitely starting to feel the nerves kick in! ?

Also another thing to note is if you want to be specialized, then go for NP! (family medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, etc), but if you prefer to have a general medical training, go for PA! Many people do say NP clinical training is less time than that of PA, but they don’t realize that NP training is specialization focused unlike the general training of PA clinical. Thus, a NP will have more clinical hours in one specific area of medicine while a PA’s is definitely broader. And both options are undoubtedly amazing career choices, and I can speak for both since I got accepted into both programs. Hope this helps!
