Emory DABSN 2nd Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi peeps,

I am currently in the process of finishing up my DABSN application for Emory Univ. But I have received an email for an interview here soon. I am wondering if there are other people out there considering this program as well. If so, you are more than welcomed to share. Also if you are applying for the Spring semester of April 2019 I would love if we could chat since there is a possibility we may be in the same program together. Anyway, send me some positive feedback.

Thanks in advance.

I think the third started in April or this coming September. I am not sure. Your GPAs are OUTSTANDING. How long ago did you submit?

You think so? I feel like they arnt... they were not high enough to have the TEAS waived lol!! I submitted a month ago but they won't look at my application until my test scores are in. What about you? Where do you reside?

Are you sure. its pretty high?. I'm sure I'm a lot lower. I didn't do well a very long time ago. My recent grades A's and B's so hopefully that helps. I have heard even with certain things pending they will review...No?

Well I initially was looking at ABSN-MSN but switched. SO now I have Nutrition pending and Chemistry Lab, I took class but I have to re-do lab portion.

Have you listened into one of their webnar for D-ABSN?

I am in Tampa, FL? You?

Thats what I was told too! I have not listened to one- I've been in class every day they had one ha!! Im In NC

Haha...It was a while back. I was just wondering. haha...I'm up finish this CNA class assignment and preparing for skills tomorrow. So I understand! Ahhh how I miss NC.?

Well I will post on here if I find out soon. Hopefully sooner then later. I was told Monday that they do not have a release date for Spring 2020 but also informed that a decision is made usually 6-8 weeks after submitting.

CNA wasnt so bad- you'll do great. Deadline is october right?

Yea. Not so bad!

I didn't know there was a deadline. I was under the impression it was rolling basis until filled and once filled applicants can be placed in next cohort. But so confused. I decided this week. I would just wait and pray for the best.

Do you have any red x's on your profile? That sort of makes me nervous...

I was told the deadline was Oct- very confusing

A lot...lol. Because I changed programs, but before I had only one left. So a lot should be checked off.

Ok so what I have learned through reviewing past applicants the red X are not a good indicator that things are bad. Some folks have received acceptance with red X's. Apparently some have to be manually changed. Which makes sense since I have red X's that were checked off in last application that have not been checked off after switching from ABSN-MSN to DABSN.

I really do feel they have overwhelming number of applicants and to be honest they always respond and are friendly when I have contacted them. Kuddos to them...

I just wonder if I need to tell them when I submit my TEAS so they can put my application under review... shouldn't it say under review or no?

Also I was told DABSN wasn't really well known so I hope not.

No. I don't think so but I'm not sure.

Yea that is a plus and is limited to certain states. Biggest thing from what I read was tuition cost as to why folks don't do it

Yeah its super expensive!!! Honestly though I've been interested in this program from the moment they dropped it. Its the reason why I went back to school.

I was already accepted into Duke but deferred just so I could try to go here.
