EMORY ABSN+MSN 2018

Published

So I decided to start a thread for the Fall 2018. Any current/prospective student on here? What GPA did you have when you applied and how competitive is the selection process? If you don't mind sharing your work experience and GRE score, that will be awesome. For those who are enrolled, do you mind sharing your experience?

Hi all!

Finally submitted my application! A little nervous due to the fact that my undergrad gpa and GRE scores were very low. But I am currently finishing my Masters degree in Health Science with a great gpa and have received all As in Nursing prerequisites. With over 5 years of patient care experience. Any insight on my chances of getting in? (Trying to remain positive)

You should be good!! I didn't submit the optional personal statement or my GRE scores and they did not require LOR or even an interview and I got in when I honestly thought I had absolutely no chance. I think they judged my application solely on grades and resume tbh so you should be good if you have experience/your current grades are good ! :)

Crying happy tears, I just received my acceptance for the midwifery track! I can't believe it!

As a few words of encouragement to those starting to apply, I have a terrible cumulative GPA: a 2.93. I wholeheartedly believe they look at you as more than just a GPA; if that weren't the case, I definitely would have been rejected. Believe in yourselves, I'm sure you all have fantastic attributes that make you wonderful candidates. Best of luck!

Congratulations! So happy for you! You just heard back today? I thought the next batch of acceptances will be released on January 15? But either way awesome for you!!

franklin_washington, thank you so much for the congratulations!! To clarify, I applied way back in July and didn't hear back on the November 15th date; I think my application may still have been under review.

That's good to know that they do not always stick to their proposed timeline and review students on a case-by-case basis! Thanks for sharing.

Hey I got accepted and we have a very similar background. 3.5 undergrad GPA. All A's in prerequisites (so far). Low GRE but waived. Master's in health promotion. 4.0 in grad school .

Has anyone received any recent communication other than the acceptance?

None here.

I haven't heard anything. Eagerly awaiting financial aid info. But at the same time, they wont update OPUS saying the documents I've submitted are marked as complete... so.. idk. I just wanna see that 100% coverage merit scholarship, ya know??? :)

Could someone add me to the FB group please? I recently deactivated my Facebook. My name is Sarah English

Hi fellow applicants!

A little late to the party, but just wanted to see if anyone was applying for the ABSN+MSN Pediatric Acute Care pathway?!

I've noticed a lot of FNP & Midwifery, just wanted to see if there are any Peds out there?!

You actually can't do pediatric acute care with the entry-level program. I already spoke to the peds director about it, and she said that specialty requires multiple years of experience. The only peds specialty offered for the entry-level students is primary care (which is what I'm doing)
