Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone applied for NME at Elmhurst College for Fall 2016 and if you heard back from them. I applied mid December and haven't heard anything yet. It is too early, I know, since the deadline was I believe today. Anyway, I don't know too much about this program and would appreciate any intel from alumni, current students or applicants. Thanks!
Hey there! I just sent in my application last week! How long was the turn around time for your interview and to find out if you were accepted for the program? Also, does anyone know if you get an email if you are not selected for an interview as well! This program looks amazing compared to RUSH and UIC as far as degree and price goes. I believe an MSN is a bit higher ranked than and MS RN . Do not quote me on this but I have heard of some people having a hard time getting jobs with and MS and not an MSN.
I submitted my application early January and had my interview the last week of February. I got my acceptance email about a week after my interview and received the information packet yesterday! I'm still waiting to hear back from UIC, but the MSN degree that Elmhurst offers seems advantageous. The only thing pulling me towards UIC is the in-state tuition I would get, which is about half of what Elmhurst would cost. I guess I need to do a cost-benefit analysis and compare!!
It was quite quick. The deadline was Jan 31, and I had my interview on Feb 23 and a decission on March 2.
It is significantly more affordable than Rush...both grant MSN.
I talked to people fron DePaul, also awards MS not MSN and they didnt have problems finding jobs...I dont know, seems that pracixally the difference is negligible.
My undrestanding is that those 4320 are only the differential + the base price which is a litlle over 5000 per semester and when you add snout 2000 in various fees, that tots 12k per semestar for in state tuition....making UIC most expensive or just about the same as Rush and Depaul and way more expensive than Elmhurst.
I believe you're correct in terms of the tuition for UIC. it would've helped if I read the instructions on how to determine total tuition costs!! Thanks for pointing that out! (Also, I apologize if this posts 2-3 times, I'm trying to navigate this website with my phone and it's being a little difficult).

Thank you for your quick response!! Congrats to you as well! Do you know if there's any difference between the two (MS in nursing and MSN)?
