Elmhurst College NME fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone applied for NME at Elmhurst College for Fall 2016 and if you heard back from them. I applied mid December and haven't heard anything yet. It is too early, I know, since the deadline was I believe today. Anyway, I don't know too much about this program and would appreciate any intel from alumni, current students or applicants. Thanks!

I interviewed the 9th and received my acceptance email this morning, as well! I was thinking about creating a Facebook group for the 2016 cohort so we could all connect--would that interest any of y'all who have received your acceptance and plan on attending?

Yes, that's a great idea! Congratulations on your acceptance! Let us know how to find the group on fb.

Thank you!! Okay, let me know if this link works: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Thanks tayfed!! I think I'd be commuting from the city but I'll let you know otherwise!

Also- just requested to be added into the facebook group :)

Hi there! I am a graduate from the first class (2014). We just graduated May 28, 2016. The program was intense, but do-able. We had a lot more issues being the first class through, but the faculty is very supportive. It prepares you well. Everyone in my class passed our CNL exam first try (100%) and some of us have already taken the NCLEX (I just did today). I had a job offer before graduating, and I think most of my classmates, if not all, have jobs. Any specific questions, feel free to ask! Good luck!

That is so awesome to hear, congratulations! I was very curious to see how the first class went, it sounds like it was excellent, and I'm sure they've smoothed out any wrinkles they had along the way by now. So glad to hear it was such a great experience!! That makes me even more excited to begin!

Hi NMstemcell,

I'm just curious to know if you moved near campus for the duration of the program. Did your financial aid cover the living expenses? I'd like to know since we are highly advised to not work during the program.

Yes I lived in Elmhurst with a roommate (another girl in the program). My financial aid barely covered tuition, because I had previous graduate courses so I didn't get as much. I had no choice but to work. Was told I couldn't work, but they weren't paying my bills, so they couldn't really tell me no. It was HARD. I do NOT advise working during the program, but it's do-able if you have no choice. I just didn't have much of a life! But that's okay, I got my first choice job at my first choice hospital, so the hard work pays off.

That's what I'm trying to avoid.

Do you know of anyone at the school who has appealed their financial aid decision?
