Elmhurst College NME fall 2016

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone applied for NME at Elmhurst College for Fall 2016 and if you heard back from them. I applied mid December and haven't heard anything yet. It is too early, I know, since the deadline was I believe today. Anyway, I don't know too much about this program and would appreciate any intel from alumni, current students or applicants. Thanks!

I also didn't hear they accepted anyone just yet. So I think there's still chance...

I'm applying to Elmhurst as well, but for the Spring cohort. I was just wondering how the interview process was for everyone, since it's via Skype. What type of questions asked, etc. Thanks!

Questions were to see if you understand the role of a proffesional nurse and what is currently changing in nursing, then why you think you'd fit in this proffesion. And since its CNL some questions were about leadership, like what it means to you and how you deal with conflicts, etc. It was abit awkward bc there was no feed back, it wasnt a conversation, just more of questio-answer format of interview. I had my interview today and I think it went pretty well. I'll keep you all posted! They all seemed really nice. I was surprised to hear how small the cohort is. They said they plan to have 21-25!

The cohort size is what I like about this school most. However, I was in touch with some people from last cohort and they started out with 18 in first semestrr and in 2nd they are down to 12!

Yea that worries me a little bit. I think their first cohort is down to 10 or so too.

Hi everyone! I was admitted to Elmhurst for the fall semester! Did anyone else apply to UIC? I'm looking for a comparison of programs, specifically relating to the degrees granted with each. I believe a few years back UIC didn't grant a degree in nursing (now does), and Elmhurst always did. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, UIC was granting MS and Elmhurst MSN. I cannot confirm that this changed.
