Elementary Algebra!

just my opinion, here...I took one introductory algebra class during the summer, and if I had the chance to do it again, I wouldn't. The same amount of material that is covered in the regular semester is PACKED into the short summer session. The homework assignments were huge, and we tested every other week. My weakest area is math, and this class was a challenge for me. It wasnt even a pre-req, it was a refresher class! I am glad I took it, I dont think I would have made it through algebra without dusting the skills off, but I would not do it in the summer again. If you are comfortable in your skills, it would not be so bad, but for someone who stuggles, it was difficult, and took up all my extra time.

Hi all, I'am taking Algebra and havent been doing so well at all so the professor said Hes going to give me an R Repeat. Would you guys recommend I take the course again in the summer? is only 7 weeks and its 3 hrs from mon-thur. Did anyone goe through this experience? Math has always been my weak subject. :uhoh21:

If you can take just the one course and concentrate on it, then I recommend doing it and getting it done. If you don't have a good basis in math, the rest will drive you totally crazy...................

I took a math refresher course which included algebra the summer before I started nursing school and I'm so glad I did! I would never have gotten through our dosage calculations course without it.

Difficult to say.

Sometimes a little time / distance from a rough subject helps. Other times staying with a class over an extended period gets you where you wanna go.

It's all up to you and how you feel about it.
