Elcentro fall 2017

Published

I know its super duper early.. I'm still in the process of taking my pre reqs.. I still need biol 1406 & bio 2401 I made a B in engl 1301 & A in psyc 2301.. I plan on taking bio 1406 in fall & bio 2401 in winter semester. Im taking as many supporting classes as I can to rack up on the extra points. I currently attend collin but they have so many more requirements than el centro so in the event i do not get accepted into elcentro the following semester I will apply at collin.. I still need Hesi & all my shots along with cpr.. anyone in the same situation? Or just getting the process started?? I figured I'd start a thread to help us all get over this together.. feel free to comment advice, concerns or questions :)

Same lol. It still really hasn't hit me yet as weird as that sounds. Surely when I get letter it will. Lol

I think that once we find out our fate it will be a victory for everybody. I hoping for the for everybody.

Yes fingers crossed we all do great í ½í¸Š

Just wanted to say thanks for the informed mail notification thingy, nothing important is coming in the mail for me today so it looks like I won't be going there today!

The first semester professor at ECC is awesome, last semester majority passed however when they took HESI at the end of the semester half did not meet the 850 requirement. The problem is that HESI is not worded like our exams in lecture, so there is no way to prepare for them and even our lecture professor does not know what will be on the HESI. But luckily you get two tries and last semester after the bad turn out and many complaints the Dean changed her mind about the 850, but she is saying this semester she will not, so it will be interesting to see the turnout. For second semester and above you teach yourself for lecture, which is not bad as they sometimes provide you with page numbers and chapters, but the exams are over many topics. Start studying NCLEX style questions and start reading ahead fir lecture. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

It so awesome of you to give us all a heads up on the situation. Thank you!

So somebody tole me to to get the Hesi exam book that they have. She told me to start studying now is this true? She did not tell me what book to get exactly but I have an idea it's on amazon and it's expensive.

Hello everyone! I see you guys have been chatting a lot but I never got any notifications so I just assumed no one was talking.. :( first off I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who are already in El Centro's program that are giving us an insight to what the program is like. Thank you thank you!! I heard about the probation thing and it is nerve racking but like you guys have said I think El Centro will get their act together because they don't want to lose their accreditation. I can't believe that our letters are mailed out a week from today!! I wish everyone the best of luck! I only applied with 31 points so hopefully that enough.. :/ hope to meet everyone soon!

I just got an update from my friend that is in her first semester that XYZ said if the school loses accreditation the classes that are already in the program will finish the program and graduate with the accreditation. They just won't be able to except anymore classes. So I think this fall 2017 is the last class if they lose their accreditation.

Hey everyone! I am also a Fall 2017 applicant!!! Waiting so patiently on my letter, and I cannot remember if I used my physical address or my DL address. So we are checking all mailboxes every day until we receive it. I wish everyone GOOD LUCK! And can you send me the info on the accreditation or the probation for ECC? I must be out of loop on this. Disappointing.

I know just 5 more days. I'm starting to get that nervous feeling in my stomach lol. 31 points is a good amount of points. The cutoff last semester was a record low. I think the high HESI score requirement has messed with a lot of people. Although I think this cutoff will be higher then last semesters I don't see it jumping up drastically. So I think anything in the 30's or high 20's even will be good. I'm just trying to stay positive and wait for my letter to find out my fate lol
