Published

I know its super duper early.. I'm still in the process of taking my pre reqs.. I still need biol 1406 & bio 2401 I made a B in engl 1301 & A in psyc 2301.. I plan on taking bio 1406 in fall & bio 2401 in winter semester. Im taking as many supporting classes as I can to rack up on the extra points. I currently attend collin but they have so many more requirements than el centro so in the event i do not get accepted into elcentro the following semester I will apply at collin.. I still need Hesi & all my shots along with cpr.. anyone in the same situation? Or just getting the process started?? I figured I'd start a thread to help us all get over this together.. feel free to comment advice, concerns or questions :)

Sid2009 if you get in, are you going to drive or take a train? If driving, how is traffic in the morning from Mckinney? Where do you leave car? Thank you.

I live in Plano /Murphy border.

If you live in the McKinney or the Frisco area I believe the closet train station would be in Plano at the Parker train station. I was told never to drive because the traffic is bad going and coming and you don't want to be late because they will eventually kick you out for always being late.

Wow I just hope the competition is not fierce. I'm nervous. I really need to start looking into the insurance too.

I plan on driving. Fate is about 30 miles away but it's just taking 30 straight there. I always leave earlier to accommodate for traffic. Plus 30 is a whole lot better than 635 lol.

I bought an ebook called nursing school thrive guide on amazon. So far it's pretty helpful with how to organize and study and what to expect.

What do you do with insurance? Can we buy it through school?

I'm not sure. I have insurance. You can either purchase an individual plan or I think the school has some resources about getting health insurance.

Submitted my packet on Monday with a total of 34 points, unfortunately I got a call from the office that my application is essentially void because my signature was not on the letter I wrote requesting a waiver for my more than 5 year old A&P 1. Good luck to all, fingers crossed y'all get in.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will get in next semester. You have a great amount of points!

YALL. It's only been a few days since the deadline and I feel like its been an ETERNITY! I can't wait. I just FEEL like I will get to go to school with most of you and I can't wait! I'm seeing GREAT numbers!

I know it's gonna be the longest 85 days ever lol. I downloaded a countdown app on my phone lol. I'm staying positive and optimistic that I will get in. Just trying to keep busy. I found a few good books about preparing for nursing school and a bunch of stuff on Pinterest I can learn and study to get a head start.

One more month to go!
