Elcentro fall 2017

Published

I know its super duper early.. I'm still in the process of taking my pre reqs.. I still need biol 1406 & bio 2401 I made a B in engl 1301 & A in psyc 2301.. I plan on taking bio 1406 in fall & bio 2401 in winter semester. Im taking as many supporting classes as I can to rack up on the extra points. I currently attend collin but they have so many more requirements than el centro so in the event i do not get accepted into elcentro the following semester I will apply at collin.. I still need Hesi & all my shots along with cpr.. anyone in the same situation? Or just getting the process started?? I figured I'd start a thread to help us all get over this together.. feel free to comment advice, concerns or questions :)

Girl I have love for you. It is so hard to try and become a nurse. You have death in the family, you get sick or you just don't have the money. For the past 6 years I've been at this! I feel that I have nothing to lose.

Can you ask if there is a lot of applicants from the fall when you go up there and turn in your application?

I just got back home I'm sorry. I don't think they would have told me anyways. Just be positive. Don't worry until you have something to worry about í ½í¸Š From what I'm gathering we have more than a competive amount of points. Happy thoughts! Lol

Yeah I'm happy for you! I know you felt good turning in your application. I never thought in a million years that I would be turning in my application for Nursing school, can't believe I've even made it this far.

Congrats to you as well. It's exciting and scary at the same time lol. I've been working towards this for long it's actually weird it's finally happening lol

Majority of my friends could not get in for missing Hep shots. So far it is only El Centro who wants all shots while applying.

That was my problem last semester. I didn't have all my hep a shots. But was able to get 2nd dose jan 28. Just in time to apply for this semester.

Do you know what the cut off was for the semester that you applied to? I wondering what is the normal cut off for the fall or spring semesters. I'm really nervous I hope that I make it.

I asked nurses what is the cut off for the fall. They told me there is no such a thing as they will take the top 60 for El Centro and another top 60 for other campus.

I wasn't able to apply last semester. But looking at the forum for last semester people as low as like 20 points got in. They even accepted late applications which never happens. But because of new points and shootings it really messed last semester up. From what I've read other people say around 30 points should be competive. I think I have 33.

Wow! People with 20 points got in? You know what when I spoke with that guy over the phone he told me the same thing. I was kind of skeptical about it because I just thought there is no way. I mean I even know people that got in with C's in Anatomy and at Collin they won't even look at your application if you have a C in any subject. Where do you live? I live in McKinney.

From what I've heard Collin is super tough to get into. I live all the way out in Fate! Lol. Last semester was not a typical semester that's for sure. But I think it's going to slowly get back to speed. As in I don't think this semester will have a crazy high cut off it's gonna have to build itself back up. So say last semester was 20. This semester might be 25-30 and then maybe higher next semester. Once people are more aware of the new point requirements and such.
