While I was at the care plan class this week, I heard that they had tried to wean her off the vent, but were unsuccessful and that she is still in a coma. Don't know if it's fact or not. I hope she is able to recover.

We were told in lecture today by an instructor at NLC about Mrs. S.

The update is that she is currently in stable condition in ICU, she is no longer on a vent.

Her family is with her and they are protecting her privacy. They do not want any visitors at the hospital.

Specializes in ER.

Thanks for the update Spill...I'm so glad her condition has improved! I just cannot imagine how difficult this has been for her family.

What do you all think about this:

I (hopefully) graduate in December and I am thinking about not starting my internship in January. I have several reasons but the most important is this: I want to travel (USA and Europe) for 1 or 2 months. If I sign a hospital contract now then I won't be able to go on a long trip for about 2 years.

I guess this delay can hurt me later when I start my career. What do you think?

Specializes in Operating Room.

I don't think it would hurt too much. You'd just have to sign a contract for a later internship.

My husband has planned a 2-week Colorado trip at the end my and the girl's school year. So, it may interfere with internship times. Hope not.

It's already planned.
