Has anyone heard anything about the new phone numbers for the background check and finger printing? Just wondering.

I haven't heard anything yet. I figured we might get that information on Dec. 20th.

I was wondering about the background testing as well. I might call up there and check on it. Did anyone send their letters in rather than turning it in by person. I sent it by mail and it makes me somewhat paranoid not knowing if they received the letter. I tried calling and following up and left a message and never got a call back.

Hi! Late joiner to this thread. I got in at NLC!!! I guess by now everyone got the email about the fingerprinting stuff. :-) I am really excited to meet people in person on the 20th. Congrats to those who got it, those who didn't please believe you can do it next time.
Hey guys, i'm currently in the 1st semester at northlake, i can SOO remember the jitters waiting. good luck to all of you. to answer your question, i believe that for the fall 2010 semester we had 60 for northlake and 60 for el centro. not sure if that helps. If you have any questions, let me know.
Since i'm right behind you, starting at NLC in January, do you have any advice, info, anything to share?? How hard was the semester? How far in advance do you get your clinical schedule? I am concerned because I have to arrange childcare around my husband's schedule & my school schedule. Are you able to trade clinical assignments, or you get what you get?? Sorry for being so anal, I'm a planner & it's hard for me to not know anything yet! :)
Is anyone having problems signing in to finish the exercise modules for the lassi?? I put the school key code and password in and it did not work.

hey, sorry for the delayed reply. I think you get what you get. =(. they will do a lottery drawing on the day of your orientation (i think someone said that yours was on the 20th). Depending on where you are at in the lottery, you will get to choose what clinical/lecture you get into, but if you are last to get picked, then you get whatever spot is left. Plan on being up at the school at least 3 days per week for the first 8 wks. Then, depending on what instructor you get, you will have to go to the hospital the day before clinical to pick a patient.
I hope this helps, they may have changed things since august, but who knows. =)

I was picked very last!!
We are kind of in limbo at this point. They will give us an idea during the 3 days of orientation. But from what I understand from past students, the times change during those 8 weeks. I am guessing we have to be flexible. Hopefully my job will be as flexible as me.

So I think most of yall had orientation this week. How was it and did you get to pick clinical/lecture sites or was it just given to you.
