OK....here's a great post for skills videos.
https://allnurses.com/forums/2105851-post10.html
I originally wanted IV skills videos, but these have other skills as well. (Especially the Valenciacc link!) I almost dare to say that this school 'wants' you to pass your skills! I'm not sure why ECC/NLC doesn't have check-off skills videos like this.
I think it helps ease the jitters knowing what to do as far as the theatrical production part of the check-off goes.
....Although my skills lab instructor cracked us all up Friday..."Mi'Shelle, don't listen to the bowel sounds under the clothes." Then I said, "Ok...I was just pretending." Get this....She said, "We don't pretend here." :rotfl:
Ok...she wasn't being rude, very nice actually, but everyone in the class thought it was just hilarious. (I was doing my in-lab class NGT insertion/irrigation/removal check-off.)
By the way, I saw that listed on the valenciacc link above as well....but not until after I needed it.
I also saw sterile field, integumentary packed wound, and female catheterization.
Of course, you will have to change things to reflect the North Lake Hospital protocol, such as actually asking the pt his name, instead of just assuming, etc, but it helps to see the videos overall.
Good luck on your remaining check-offs....what Sterile dressing & Foleys?
I guess this will be good for others to refresh their minds on skills learned in 1st (and 2nd) semesters as well!
