It has been a mess - but, I'm glad because it was not a good day for me to go anywhere. I went from coughing and being sick yesterday to winding up with a migraine last night (probably from jerking my head coughing so much), waking up with it still this morning and finally vomiting until I wound up with a nose bleed! My headache was better after that, but I wound up sleeping about 12 hours today. I guess we can't do anything about the back and forth schedule, but I'm more concerned about us not being together to do a care plan. I feel very unprepared for the care plan. How bout you?

I'm a little better today, thanks. I went to the dr. & I have another ear infection. I'm on antibiotics now. The dr. said I probably have a sinus infection contributing to the headache/nosebleed...hopefully all will be better by tomorrow - usually after a couple days of abs, i'm feeling better. You hanging in there?

I am, I have orientation tommorrow at Plano. I'm stressed about next week...meds ck off and our first time at the hospital with a pt.

I'm scared about next week. The kids that had their first pt. this week came into lecture sharing their horror stories...so now I'm super nervous!!!

Well, we should have had horror stories to share with you today, however that turned into a bonafide SNAFU. What horrible things happened with them? We have meds checkoff and clinical both next week also (originally we were all going to the hospital together to pick patients and to do our careplans, and now we're on our own. I don't even have a careplan book yet....I'm VERY nervous and unprepared for careplanning! Good luck on your orientation though...it wasn't bad, just a little boring.

what is SNAFU...can't figure it out...

One girl had a pt that had on a diaper and she spent most of the day changing that and the sheets. (I don't know I would even know how to do that...I guess, just common sense, but we have had not skills training on that)

Another, had a pt that told her to go away and never come back.

OMG...did she do something to make the patient mad?? Ok...hopefully I'll pick my patient better than that. I'm looking for a continent, hopefully not crabby person who is at least marginally ambulatory...lmao. SNAFU=situation normal...all f***** up. This pretty well describes the entire El Centro nursing program, but especially our class :deadhorse .

Our whole clinical schedule got jacked up at the last minute....oh well. I'm studying for lecture!!
