congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
Katie,
It's not so much excitement as annoyance...we have one student who wants us other students to give her all the answers, walk her through every procedure, repeat everything to her again, and on and on and on. I told her already that I'm not getting paid to teach her, but I'm paying to learn
and many students seconded it to her. She STILL doesn't get it. And I'm with her EVERY clinical day apparently. It'll be a miracle if I make it out of clinicals without a felony assault charge looming over my head (I'm just kidding...I think). Oh well, only 6 days left! I can do it...I think I can, I think I can. Jaxia, I think "Ms. Anatomy's" restraint just flew out the window.

Do your classmates know that your are also teaching? By the way, are you going to teach while being in the nursing program? It must be fun to be both side of the table. :monkeydance:

Most of them know it, and it seems to be a bone of contention with the instructor. I am teaching a Saturday section this semester. I'd like to keep doing it as long as I can. I desperately need the money since I'm not eligible for financial aid. The good thing about going to school while teaching is that the things instructors do that make you crazy are fresh in my mind and I make it a point not to do them! I even tell my students to let me know if I'm doing anything that makes them feel like their successs is unimportant to me. On the other hand, if they bomb a test and haven't been to open lab (yes, I check the sign in list), they get my mommy lecture. I think some of our instructors would benefit from having to be a student in a class and get treated the way we do sometimes...it's been too long for most of them to remember how it feels.

Yang & Jaxia I enjoy reading your banter back and forth! You both are really funny--even though I know you aren't trying to be.
The lecture test went well I almost made an A, and I'll take it, I mean, the test only covered over 20 chapters!
I went and bought a Care Plan book and a Nursing Drug Hand book from Barnes and Noble today. I just wanted to buy it and get that over with...I hate spending money on this stuff. It's painful to part with $$$$
Oh well, hopefully these books will be with me throughout the nursing program, and I'll get my monies worth out of them.
Now it's off to the couch to chill for the rest of the night.
I'm 4th...Starla is 1st & I'm meeting her there early because she needs her peer sheet signed off. I feel so so ready, but certainly not 100%. I've got my tube rigged into a water bottle so I could practice with my roommate (a full-sized person...lol). I can bring it with me tomorrow if we want to go through it a couple of times a little early....what time are you coming up there?
