Hi everyone!I
I wanted to make a group for all the people applying for the Spring 2020 program. Has anyone taken the HESI yet? If so, are there better tools than the book?

I know traditionally at most colleges less people apply for the spring semester, but I don't know the case with El Centro since I heard they just started taking applications again after having their probation lifted. My 2nd question: do they have a preference for Dallas County students?
When you turn in your application, the person in the Health Occupation Office may be able to give you a ballpark figure, or you can email one of the nursing program advisors. I personally have never asked this question, but I have seen in these threads some people get answers and sometimes they are told "they cant give out that info" It's worth a shot if you are really curious. DCCCD doesn't give any extra points for being a Dallas county student or resident. Also, this is the 3rd cycle of applications since the probationary status so more people may or may not be aware that DCCCD is taking ADN applications again. I am in the second semester at El Centro, and we were the first group to get acceptance since they began taking new applicants again.

Flu shots will need to be completed each flu season. Since the start date of your clinical would be in the Fall if you get in, your flu shot will need to be after the new vaccines are released after August of this year. I would get documentation of your flu shot from before August (which would be 2018-2019 flu season shots) and upload it, but you will need record of your new shot for the 2019-2020 flu season to be compliant for clinical. But yes, you are correct, if you need to upload the flu shot after the deadline you can. Castle Branch will review it and approve it even if it's after the deadline.

For Castle Branch; are those due dates critical on the account? Mine had a due date of last year but I think it’s been fixed now.
37 points is great!! You should be good ?
Make sure castle branch is for the correct term you are applying for!

I only have about 33 or 34 pts. I’m trusting it will be enough, because there was no way I was going to retake the HESI!
did you get your dates fixed? Castle Branch said they would fix it, but they haven't yet... I think the school hasn't even set up castle branch for the spring. I may call the admissions office to see what is going on.
Ok, just to be certain, we need to turn in:
- the nursing application
- the statement of student's responsibility
- a printout of our HESI A2 scores
- optional 5 year waivers
I received the nursing form and statement after "attending" the online info session and couldn't find a Spring 2020 revised form online. The date on the bottom says 7/31/2018 and it makes me nervous but I guess it all works the same lol
Also, thanks @babysplash! When I turn in my packet this week I'll ask them some questions. I'm super curious ?

You are correct!!!
I found an old application and responsibilities form from one of their older informations packets as well! I don't understand why they took those forms out of their packets... Oh well! I submitted my form today in the office! Now the long 3 month wait!

I've watched the video/pp like 3 times and answered the questions at the end and still have not received my application (checked spam and all), I've also tried to contact el centro about it (no response). Any suggestion on how to get the nursing application form/statement of student's responsibility form?
TIA

Hi guys! Just stumbled upon this thread and I'll be applying for Spring 2020 as well. I have two questions I hope y'all can answer: do y'all know if there will be more people or less applying for this Spring semester? I know traditionally at most colleges less people apply for the spring semester, but I don't know the case with El Centro since I heard they just started taking applications again after having their probation lifted. My 2nd question: do they have a preference for Dallas County students? I will be transferring in with TCC and UTA credits and I'm a little wary. UTA's BSN program offered an extra point on their application if you took 3 out of their 4 sciences on their campus, so I didn't know if DCCCD was picky about stuff like that. Anyways, I'll be driving myself up really soon and handing in my application after my summer 1 class grade posts, and I'll be applying with 32 points. I know the cut off for fall was 28 so I'm hopeful, but idk how their spring applicant pool looks like. Sorry for rambling! I'm so so nervous! Really glad to know I'm not the only one though.
