I will be applying to the fall 2018 semester at El Centro. I am excited but also nervous that I might not have enough points. How many points will everyone else be applying with?
I am beyond frustrated with el centro. My biggest question is why would they send this out on Friday before Spring break. Now we are not able to contact or schedule anything for the other colleges. We lose a whole week! I honestly think someone needs to be fired at this point because dealing with a nursing school ahould not be this difficult!

I found out from an advisor at Brookhaven about their probation issue so I'm glad I didn't even bother to go through all the paperwork. I never considered going to another ADN program because North Lake is 5 minutes from my house and because I had heard that it was very hard to get into Brookhaven so I didn't bother to take chemistry. Last summer I found out about the hep A vaccine just before the application deadline that set me back 6 months, and now this has put me back again! I'm almost 55 so time is an even bigger issue for me. As mad as you are about the timing of their email, I'd be even more furious that they have known for quite a while that they would not be allowed to add any more nursing students and should've told all the applicants in Jan. so ppl could try to apply to other programs. Now they've missed a lot of deadlines for the fall and it will put them back another a year. If I could afford it, I would just go to a university program. I would have been graduating in about 24 months with a BSN if I had just switched to a university program last fall. But since I can't afford it, I will have to wait and hope I get into Brookhaven next Jan. Sure hope you can get into another program somewhere. Good luck!
I think it will be ok since the application deadline requirements are what they look at first. However, to be 100% sure, you should go down & talk to Jesse. He'll be able to give a concrete answer for sure. FYI, Brookhaven classes never expire. Their ADN program is 16 months & you don't have to make 80 on all your HESI sections, just a 76 overall score. They don't count history, government, speech, etc either. You just have to pass your pre-req's & then you get pts for A&P II, microbiology, & pharmacology depending on your grade for those classes. A=3 pts, B=2 pts, C=1 pt. You also have to do a 1 day drug calculation workshop & pass with at least a 90. You can take it at least twice if nessary, maybe more. The only other difference in Brookhacen & North Lake/El Centro is Brookhaven requires a minimum of intro to chem. If your pts total at least 27, you can apply. Then you have an interview and a professional writing sample to do. They also don't require the Hep A vaccine. Nort Lake is 5 minutes from my house but North Lake/El Centro has caused me so many problems I'm changing to Brookhaven. Brookhaven has an excellent NCLEX pass rate & El Centro is on prooation right now because theirs was so bad. Mountain Vieww's program is similar to Brookhaven's but they require speech, PE, & algebra I for pre-req's & students that have taken a lo of their classes from Mountain View get 1st consideration. If at all possible, you should apply to all 3 to increase your odds of getting into at least one. Good luck!
Thank you. I talked to Jesse and he said this is last semster for that course so I can go ahead and apply

Thank you. I emailed her, wasn't sure if anyone else had and already received a response.
