Hello fellow nursing students!!!
i just submitted my application to the nursing program (ADN) at El Camino College in Torrance, Ca. I have worked in the medical field for almost 10 years but have limited experience with hands on patient care. This is my first big step towards my career and i cannot be more excited :)
i am looking for any fellow students who are also prospectively trying to get in to this program.
i have already began to study for the TEAS even though invitations aren't released until mid October. Test dates would begin sometime in November (according to my counselor)
My overall point score was a 44 and according to my counselor the average points (to get accepted) range from 37-42 so i'm feeling really good about my chances :)
any response or feedback would be greatly appreciated!!! happy Tuesday all :)
i received an email today for the New Flu Vaccination Mandate it was headlined "to all nursing students" this could only be a good sign...crossing my fingers :) !!!! but still no TEAS invite[/quote'] Yes I got that email too. And I got invited to take the TEAS test on Tuesday so I'm going to go and take it and hope I get a good score :). The thing is that I only had one week to study. I hope you get an invite soon.

i'm still waiting on an invitation :-/ however, i emailed the director today to find out the status of my application and if they are still sending these out. best of luck to you bryan!!! has anyone else received an invite?
UPDATE*** just spoke with one of the directors at the Torrance campus today she said TEAS invitations have NOT been sent out yet. There's still hope![/quote'] I took the TEAS test and it was horrible. Not what I expected at all and it was impossible for me to go back and study the whole ATI book in one week.

i was a little shocked when you said they had only given you a week...students i had talked to previously said they were at least given a month....makes me a little nervous but stay positive! im sure you did great. as for me, i still haven't received an invite and im starting to get really anxious!!!
Hello I am also interested in the Nursing program at El Camino. What score are you referring that ranges from 37-42, I completed my TEAS already, I just need to confirm my courses taken at another school are transferable. Thank you[/quote'] From my understanding, that score represents your application score, not including the TEAS score. After TEAS scores are received then all points will be calculated to determine the seats. It's all based on point criteria and you will find the point criteria guide sheet on their website.
