EKG resources for the Student Nurse

I really enjoyed learning about EKGs while in school. Believe it or not, I'll read through EKGs periodically to brush up my skills (for fun). I used many of these resources from Allnurses as well as throughout the web to survive EKGs and cardiac physiology. I hope current students find these as useful as I did. All of these links should work fine. Sometimes lists of links get outdated.

Also, don't be afraid of the so-called advanced stuff. The information can still help you as a beginning student. You won't need to know all of the super details. However, each site explains EKGs slightly different. One may speak to you more than the other. Enjoy.

EKG Basics:

Has many rhythms, tutorials, cardiac physiology, and more for nurses.

http://urbanhealth.udmercy.edu/ekg/learn.htmlVideo series of EKG basic but one must have quicktime to watch the video.

Rhythm Simulator:

A simulator of 27 common rhythms.

12 Lead EKG/Advanced Interpretation:

This has the best analogy of lead placement and description of the EKG I've ever read. Thanks GrnTea (a member on AN).

A wikipedia EKG book. It's free but double check any information you get on wikipedia.

Thank you for this! I do not enjoy EKGs but this is very helpful.

Last summer I got my certification as an EKG Technician with the idea of working as a Tech while finishing nursing school. I never got a job, but did find this website to whcih I subscribe and find the cardiologist is an excellent teacher.

Learn To Read An ECG ? Sample 5-3

I pay $24.95 a month and have spent the last year learning tons and once I start my BSN Program at UTHHSC in May, 2013, I plan to give up my subscription.

Just thought I'd share.
