Edison State College 2014

Published

Hello! Is anyone applying for Edison(Lee campus) for fall of next year? I plan on applying in the spring for the evening program. I'm also in the process of finishing my last pre reqs and studying for the Hesi. I know the evening program is about 5 semesters but does anyone know if its shorter when all pre reqs are completed? So far I've gotten all A's in them. Thanks in advance

Yes very disappointing! .. I stalk my portal and personal email to see if anything new has been sent! Super anxious to know the dates and times! Your right, I honestly believe the whole name change has them pretty busy. I was kinda skeptical about the name change but now I love the idea! :)

You should be able to see that dates and times already. Just go to your portal and click on look up classes to add and then nursing. All the classes for each campus are listed there already.

Thanks!! I had tried looking up the classes before and I couldn't see any!. Well at least now I know the days and times. .. so now I'm wondering what that second email is going to say. :)

I went to get my uniform. Some of the things I could take home with me that day, but some had to be sent out to get embroidered with the logo. They will call when it's done.

Where can we purchase uniforms? We haven't gotten that memo yet at Charlotte. Do you mind me asking how much the blue and white polo shirts, and the scrubs were?

TIA

The only approved vendors are Hamilton Uniforms and Medical Xpress. I went to Hamilton Uniforms at 12719 McGregor Blvd. in Ft. Myers. I don't remember how much everything was individually but I spent about $140. I got the hospital scrubs, the scrubs for the lab, the lab coat and a polo shirt. We get 25% OFF for being students. They had shoes there but I didn't really like them so I got mine from sketchers.

Thank you! I will stop by there after work tomorrow. It will be one thing off the list lol

I was going to go on Saturday, were they very helpful there after you informed them you were coming from FSW nursing program? were you able to try things on(is that a stupid question?) lol

Hi Kathe,

Yes, the lady was very nice. There is a fitting room and you are able to try everything on. The sizes were not always accurate. I had to go with different sizes for my hospital scrubs as opposed to the lab scrubs. Just tell the lady you are from the program and she will show you everything you need. Have fun! It was awesome trying on scrubs for the first time.

That's good to know! Was everything embroidered already?

No, they send it to get embroidered. Only three items get embroidered, the lab coat, the polo shirt and the white top for the hospital clinical. The scrubs for on campus labs don't get embroidered and they have to be a solid color, no patterns or prints on it. You can purchase those and take them home with you that day. They will call you when the rest come back from embroidery. They still haven't called me yet and I was there two weeks ago. I guess it takes them a little while.

Thanks for the info girl! I signed up for my classes a few days ago and I already have my books, just waiting for one more to be delivered. What color scrubs did you get?
